Advantages: None!

Disadvantages: Everything. I have nothing good to say about it

Dying of thirst I picked up the first drink up in Tescos that was in vision to me. Never having tried it before I thought I'd sit up and take notice of it and write a review about it!

Now I bought mine in the 500ml size but it is available in a variety of sizes and in cans or plastic bottles. So mine is a blue recyclable plastic bottle (not green as shown) with a black screw on/off lid and on that in white writing the word zero is written on it. Around the bottles middle there is a blue and green label. on that again in white writing I'm told it's Sprite Zero 'great sprite taste, zero sugar, real lemon & lime flavour, no artificial colours and caffeine free. Then there are nutritional values, size is stated, and I'm told it's best served chilled, the ingredients are listed, and I'm told the best before date is around the neck of the bottle. There is a bar-code and the website is listed www.obeyyourthirst.co.uk. Beneath that on the bottle all the way around are dimples. Nice enough bottle with all the information on it that you need.

The Drink...

Well opening the bottle created a fizz that sounded promising and there was a distinct smell of lemons though the smell of lime wasn't apparent but it smelt fruity and sharp.

The drink itself is a cloudy light yellow... I think. I say I think because I drank mine out of the bottle and yes it was cold. I noticed that the fizz vanished almost on opening it. It just didn't stay fizzy for long at all.

First few sips it tasted ok. Lemony and fresh it quenched my thirst very well (I was parched lol). It went downhill from there however. Now on the bottle Coca Cola (the manufacturers of Sprite) state that this has a real lemon & lime flavour. 'Flavour' being the operative word as on the list of ingredients lemons and/or limes are not listed in any way shape or form. Flavourings are and this almost says it all. The other part of it is there is no sugar which is fine and there are sweeteners. Now this is fine because I prefer low calorie options and this was a factor in me purchasing it in the first place.

However the flavour of this is simply vile. When I say vile I really mean vile and the more you drink of it the worst it gets so first impressions don't count for anything.

The taste is fake. It doesn't taste fresh or natural and doesn't smell that way either. The sweeteners are far too much mixed with the taste of it and the whole thing on every single level is absolutely disgusting to drink and I ended up throwing half away after almost being sick in the street (I'm really not exaggerating this). To me it's one of the worst things I ever drank. It coats the tongue mainly with sweeteners and this bitter pretend citrus taste as well and you end up more thirsty than if you'd have bothered drinking anything.

I'm sorry that I have nothing positive to say about this product. I do drink other variety's of Sprite and I like them well enough but this being 'Zero', well it gets the big thumbs down from me for sure. Even just writing about it makes me want to throw up as I'm thinking about it. A very disappointing addition Coca cola. I would say avoid, avoid avoid at any cost!

toally agree with you! but does work well if your ever stuck for choice and near a mc donalds on a very hot day- somehow through a straw and with ice cubes in it, it tastes really different!

I don't like any of the fizzy drinks, not even Coke. I don't know how people can drink any of them! Tea, coffee, lager and wine - now they're what I call drinks!
