Advantages: Low Calorie
Disadvantages: Disgusting, overly fizzy, tastes cheap
Ah, low calorie fizzy drinks. Full of chemicals and now with even less flavour.
Sprite Zero comes along under the "Zero" branding pioneered for Coke. The principles are the same, well known brand of pop but with none of the same, dreaded sugar substance we must all cower in fear from. The only difference between Coke Zero and Sprite Zero is that Coke authentically recreates the flavour of Coca-Cola while Sprite Zero is god-awful.
See, I have a niggle developing lately. I think the kind of people that want a healthy drink shouldn't drink pop. It's firmly seated in the junk food category and despite the lack of sugar, this is loaded with so many different chemicals and bizarre ingredients including Phenylalanine. It's not good, wholesome fruit juice but it has a fair few less calories. Now, as all varieties of pop are stuffed with chemicals these days then a variety of that same old, lovable Sprite but a bit more slimming would be a perfect product.
It all falls apart on tasting. Sprite Zero is ridiculously bubbly and has a taste remarkably like supermarket value lemonade. It has none of the charm of its sugar endowed cousin and is totally unsatisfying. It is priced at the usual rip off price of drinks today and will range from 70p to £1.30 depending on how far from a city centre you are.
Summary: Unless you're in one of those shops now only stocking sprite zero, you'd be advised to avoid this.
