Advantages: Strong, anniseed
Disadvantages: Expensive
This drink is fanastic. And as many of you have commneted on my other opinions - yes it does have an aniseed flavour (if I spelt that right). This is the strongest absynth that money can buy here in the UK and I strongly recommend that you at least try a shot of it. However, I have drank a few bottles of this already (not at the same sittings) and have never experienced any halloucinations so I think its just a whole load of hype. Ok, this can be drunk neat or with ice from a chilled shot glass but the best way to drink it is after caramalising some sugar. The way to do it is this 1.Take a shot glass and fill with absynth. 2.Take a spoon (preferably an absynth spoon with holes in it) and scoop up a small amount of sugar with it. 3.Dip the spoon just slightly into the green drink until the sugar is wet. 4.Light the sugar from the bottom of the spoon and watch as the flame slowly dies out. This will take about 20-30 seconds. 5.Mix the caramalised sugar intot the drink and down.. Great... but watch out for your throte burning! :) Cheers All PS it dont make good cocktails

- 10/04/01 I don't like aniseed (Ouzo makes me wrench) very much but we somehow managed to finish off a bottle of Sebor Absynthe anyway, using it as a mixer with Sainsbury's tropical squash and loads of ice - you can barely taste the aniseed that way :-) |
