My little book recommended this wine quite strongly, also stating that it was "excellent value for money" - so I flung a bottle (carefully!) into my basket. The bottle and label are pleasant but unremarkable, with green being very much the theme. The label assured me that the grapes were from the Constantia region, vintage 2001, with a potent 13.5% alcohol (hic). I paid £8.99 for my bottle in Waitrose. OK - now for the really important stuff! "Mmm... wine...!" The background: I enjoy both red and white wines, and although I have my favourites that slip into my trolley with startling regularity, I do enjoy trying different wines from time to time. I'm afraid I have one of those poncey little wine guide books, and I am occasionally to be seen standing in the fine wine section of a supermarket near me, clutching my book and surveying the racks with a bemused expression on my face. I'm fond of dry white wines, especially Sauvignon Blancs, and usually stick to New Zealand-born SBs, as they tend to be excellent.
