Stella Artois is a premium lager with an ABV of 5.0% in the UK, having recently been reduced frn from 5.2 % ABV in an effort to rid itself of a reputation for being a 'wife beater' lager. Originally produced in Belgium in 1926 as a Christmas brew, Stella Artois has become an international favourite and accounts for 75% of Belgium's beer ... Read the complete review

I used to be a big fan of Stella Artois, as I fell for all the marketing and advertising of the brand as a premium lager. A high alcohol content (5.2%), coupled with a high price, and the history of being a traditional Belgian beer makes you think that you are getting something... 'reassuringly expensive'. However, in my ... Read the complete review

Absolutely love Stella, but only from the tap. I personally don't think it is the same from the bottle or can.
I have drunk it for too many years to state how many, its never caused me any problems.
Often nip in Wetherspoons when I am out shopping and need to wait an hour for my bus. Well thats my excuse.
Definately 5*

Stella Artois is what most people who want to get drunk as much as possible buy when they frequent any pub in the UK. It is the strongest lager on tap that can be bought, with 5.2% in strength, no other lager matches this in terms of strength. Fosters and Carlsberg etc. are in the lower 4% regions. In terms of taste, Stella for a 5.2% ... Read the complete review

Stella Artois, the belgian Premium lager, that has lost a bit of its original kick of late, used to be 5.2%, then suddenly, and somewhat out of the blue from my perspective, reduced down to 5.0% overnight. Stella has for many years had the 'Wife Beater' nickname attched to it, although from my own personal drinking experience of it, I ... Read the complete review

Ah Stella, we meet again. This beer is a coy one to say the least. Coy in the way a truck to the face can be. Stella Artois is a premium lager of rather strong ABV at 5.2%. The beer is immensly popular and can be seen stocked at almost every pub you may visit. Why so popular? Well, for many it is a lager that gets you severly inebriated, yet still ... Stella is frequently lent the term "wife beater", and is seen as something of a drink associated with chavs because of its strong alcohol volume, but it is largely misunderstood, and is in fact a tasty, relaxing beer with a real kick to it. Most people are intelligent enough to know that even a truckload of Stella won't turn ... Read the complete review

Stella Artois is the premium beer from Belgium and has been sol din the UK for years. It is made from water, hops, yeast, unmalted cereals and malted barley and has quite a strong taste to it for a beer. You can buy it in bottles, cans or by the pint in most bars, restaurants, supermarkets and off licences. Being the premium ... Read the complete review

Sorry if this ends up really bad and ill formatted, im going to be writing this review on my mobile phone as im drinking a bottle. The drink comes in a very standard beer bottle, in green. This particular bottle is admittedly quite small at just 284 ml, half a pint i think. Unlike many which seem to be 330, which with the alcoholic ... Read the complete review

Stella Artois has changed and not for the better, it used to be 5.2% it has now become 5%. I don't care that the strength is less but the taste has also diminished. Rumour has it that Isinglass (made from fish)is no longer used as a fining agent so the beer is now suitable for vegetarians. Well guess what, Stella also no longer tastes ... It's a premium beer. 5.2%, Belgian in origin, tastes pretty good and has a fancy name. This surely should be the perfect CV for a tasty drinkable lager but there are several factors that annoy and frustrate me about this beer. It is 'affectionately' known as "Wifebeater" by some of the less amusing people who drink it (or ... Read the complete review

Stella Artios, it used to be the preserve of the affluent, with the supporting advertising bearing the slogan 'reassuringly expensive' like a badge of honour. However in recent years 'Stella' as its often known has (along with other premium %5+ lagers) built a reputation as an unsophisticated drink existing only to fuel 'wife beaters' and their ... Affectionately known as "wife beater" Stella is one of the strongest widely available lagers in the UK and with the slogan "Reassuringly expensive" it is also normally the most expensive. A lady I am not, so I am not ashamed to say that I am a female lager drinker and have been known to have to carry my husband to the bedroom after a night on the Stella. Many people will tell you that all lager tastes thew same and, to them, they might be right, but I can clearly tell the difference between a quality lager and a cheaper ... Read the complete review

Stella Artois is a premium continental lager from Leuven (20 kms east of Brussels) in Belgium. It has a 5% ABV and takes it's name "Stella" from the star of Bethlehem as it was originally brewed as a Christmas beer. The name "Artois" comes from Sebastian Artois who founded the brewery. It has been brewed using the ... Read the complete review

This is probably one of my favourite beers of all time. It is best experienced when chilled in the fridge overnight. The beer is said to have been brewed since 1366. It is a belgium beer with alot of depth of flavour. This beer is also a great beer if you are cooking as well. One of the best meals that i can make, a steak and ale pie, uses this ... Before I start my review I must admit I',m not really a lager drinker I'm more of a bitter man myself. However some kind soul gave me a pack of four Stella Artois for Christmas and so not to offend them I gladly put them in the cupboard for a rainy day. Tonight was that rainy day. Sitting in front of the TV I drank a couple of bottles. ... Read the complete review

Stella Artois is a 5.2% lager that was initially brewed in Leuven in Belgium in 1926 as a Christmas brew, but thanks to the commercial success of the Christmas beer it was commercialized and became an all year beer. OK People, Cheers, I am having a drink, Good Old Stella, as in Stella Artois from Belgium. Served and drunk from the good old fashioned green glass bottle, this brew is just over %5 ABV (Alcohol by Volume). It is 5.2% actually but I am certainly not counting. The bottle holds 33cl, or 330ml, the same quantity as beer cans. The ... Read the complete review
