Strongbow Jacques Fruit Cider

Having previously written a review on the fantastic Rekorderlig cider I got to sample over Christmas, I decided to review this 'trendy' drink that is currently doing the cider rounds. As I may have mentioned before, I am not normally an apple cider fan, preferring the sweeter and less tangy flavour the pear variety has to offer. I have never actually been a fan of cider as the taste and smell often put me off, no matter how many times I tried it. This was until this past summer when I was offered to try some from a friend. I said I wasn't a fan of cider but they were insistent that id like it. Fair enough, I thought, least I will know after I've tried it. I was pleasantly surprised by the taste actually. I have never really been a fan of cider of any kind. I used to drink those horrible £1 bottle's of White Lightning when I was a kid and now I cannot stand the smell or the taste of the stuff. So when a friend told me of this cider she had drank at the pub and how nice it was I thought Id put my personal thoughts aside and go and buy a bottle to try it out. Jaques Fruit Cider It was only recently that I tried Jaques cider, and I have to say I was really surprised about how good it tasted. It is very sweet and conatins lots of sugar, but without being at all sickly. It also doesn't taste too alocoholic, and is very morish, I finished half of a bottle with no effort at all. At 5.5% vol it is not too strong, more than beer but not as much as wine, and a few glasses will get you pretty giddy fairly quickly. I will be talking about the Jacques Fruits Des Bois Cider With Fruit. Wow, I feel posh after saying that! You've also got Jacques Orchard Fruits Cider With Fruit, but I am yet to try it.
