Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: Not as good as a lot of Ciders out there, but it'll do!
It might be the UK's most popular, but I can't really say that Strongbow is the tastiest cider available in the UK. Strongbow is a well known cider brand, always available on tap in virtually every pub you go into up and down the UK.
I've always been a cider drinker, and I grew up on strongbow, liking the taste, but after a while I found it tasteless and moved on to Magners. Recently I came back to Strongbow and I've learnt to embrace it's tastiness once again, and it's a damn sight cheaper than Magners too, although on the subject of comparison, I think I still favour Magners over Strongbow. Apart from the cost, another advantage Strongbow has over Magners is that I prefer it from the can to Magenrs from a can. Most parties you go to, there'll be a boxful of Strongbow somewhere for those who don't like lager!
In my opinion, Strongbow tastes best in a pint glass chilled, and though it's not the best cider out there, is somewhat satisfying and benefits your thirst and wallet content when you go sit in the garden of your local on a nice hot day.
I don't mean to be highly critical of Strongbow, it's just not something you can drink on a regular basis, as the taste that's initially there somewhat wore off on me, and although I'm back drinking the stuff now, I won't be surprised if I go off it again for a while. It has it's pros and cons, but to conclude it's nice to drink when you've already had a few, and isn't bad to start off with as long as you don't do it on a regular basis. Never the less, if you don't like cider like a lot of people seem to unfortunately, give Strongbow a go, I know quite a few lager drinkers who are critical of cider but do enjoy Strongbow.
Summary: Something for everyone!
