Advantages: Cheap, Widly avalible.

Disadvantages: Does not taste very nice.

This is a high profile brand and is probably the cider that most people will recognise. It is also the one most frequently on tap at pubs. If you are a tap person - ie walk into a bar and see Carlsberg, Fosters etc and feel happy then strongbow would be the choice for you. If this is not you then strongbow is far too weak and has a very bitter taste compared to what Cider should taste like.

Cider, like many other drink categories (ie. Wine, Beer, Port etc) is a matter of personal choice. However there are some that are just better and once your palette has been educated on a wide variety of tastes so that you can tell the difference between the ciders then you will find that Strongbow does not taste very nice. It is usually cheap and in a normal city pub (not a true local) then no one will think twice about a guy ordering a pint or a girl getting a pint or a half pint. If you would prefer people though to think you are more experienced try a cider like Orchards' Wye Cider.

Strongbow is for the typical lad -this is probably emphasized in their advisement. It is cheap, widely available and served at the right temperature (cold). It ticks three out of the four boxes for cider what it crucially doesn't tick for me is the taste box. But then again tastes differ what not be my cup of tea may be your cider.

Summary: If you like it continue to drink it.
