Sunquick Orange Squash
(840ml)
This is one of the squashes that I had to suggest and review for many reasons. To begin with, unfortunately, it is only available from Asda at the moment for the very cheap price of only £1.06 per 840ml bottle. It comes in a heavy glass jar with a light orange label and a somewhat clumsy orange cap.
What makes this squash excellent value for money is that it is super concentrated, so while you add four parts water with other squashes, you add nine with this one. Thus this 840ml bottle makes more that 8 liters of the diluted orange juice. The smell of the product in the jar immediately makes you aware of the acidity of the juice.
It is true that it has added sugar, but the diluted drink has the nice acidic taste that you find in fresh orange juice. This product is free from artificial colours, flavourings and sweeteners which has to be one of the best advantages of this squash for many people. What it has instead is sugar, of course, and minimum 50% (of the undiluted drink) orange juice from concentrate as is claimed on the label and as can be detected from the delicious flavour, as I believe.
This squash should be stored in the refrigerator and consumed within four weeks after opening. It contains Contains Casein and Sulphites and the 250ml serving in the diluted form gives around 82 calories. Still, it is definitely recommended.
