... hard spirits like Vodka (which of course this contains). I personally wouldn't drink this all the time, as I prefer my drinks to be either sweet or kicking - and this is a cross between the two. I bet that there are some people who this mixed taste would really appeal to. Well there must be, else this drink wouldn't have been around for so many decades! I'd recommend Taboo to someone looking for a unique taste that fits somewhere between being a spirit, a wine and a cocktail....more

Taboo...well what can I say I bought a 70cl bottle from tescos offlicence, they sell it for around £7 My boyfriend warned me! He told me it would be sickeningly sweet and would give me a horrible hangover...and yes he was right! I usually like my sweet drinks like malibu for example I decided to bring this to a party one night and the first glass or two was really quite pleasent, but I guess I should have had the sense to stop after that! I had one more small glass and I felt like i was going to throw up because it was so sticky, sweet and horrible! I'll never drink this awful stuff again! I left the bottle with loads left in it at my ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review A Spirit with a Twist (300 words)

Taboo has always been in a staple in our house around Christmas time, but this year it was bought out for a family barbecue too. It costs just under £7 for a 70cl bottle which I think is pretty good value these days. You can get it from supermarkets, including Tesco which is where we bought ours from. If you've never had, or even heard of, Taboo before, then it's basically a mixture of fruit juices, wine and vodka. It's like a peach and tropical twist vodka drink really, although you can taste the wine as it has a little dry, crisp edge to it. I'm not the hugest fan of this, as I'm not so keen on the wine kick to things, but I have to admit to ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Taboo: Intriguing! (371 words)

Recently it was a work colleagues birthday. Invariably on her birthday and at Christmas I am terribly predictable and buy her a bottle of Baileys - simply because it is the only thing that I know for a fact she likes! This year I was determined to be different. While doing my weekly shopping in Safeways, I stopped in the drinks department (one of my favourite departments by the way!) and had a browse. Then I saw Taboo. I had heard of it before, but had never seen or tried it. The bottle was quite eye catching, and the description 'an intriguing blend of wine, exotic fruit juices and vodka.' sounded good. ?Taboo, ?intriguing? ...  Read the complete review

Let me tell you a story....... Once upon a time there was a teenage girl of 15 and one Saturday night she had arranged to go to a party at a friend's house. It made a change from hanging out at the local bandstand in town drinking dodgy cider and 20/20 though and she was really quite looking forward to it, now all she needed was something to drink. At 15 she was clearly underage to be drinking, but looking that little bit older she walked into her local supermarket and stood browsing the shelves of the alcohol department. There was so much to choose from, all different types of bottle, all different colours and the most wierd and wonderful names ever. The ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Taboo is fantastic! (194 words)

I am a bit of a girly girl when it comes to a tipple.I don't do beer.I don't do lager. And alcopops tend to drive me loopy after a while, they are too sickly sweet.Besides, they might get you a wee bit tipsy but if you are out for a wild time you might be after well,a little more than tipsy! Taboo meets all requirements. Its not disgusting like vodka or,shudder, whiskey. And Archers, whilst being a rather nice peach snapps is still quite high in alcoholic content and those amongst us who would like to hang on to our liver choose Taboo every time! It tastes lovely with coke but i prefer it straight. It tastes fruity and well pleasant. And it gets you ...  Read the complete review
