Advantages: refreshing

Disadvantages: no good neat!

Recently it was a work colleagues birthday. Invariably on her birthday and at Christmas I am terribly predictable and buy her a bottle of Baileys - simply because it is the only thing that I know for a fact she likes!

This year I was determined to be different. While doing my weekly shopping in Safeways, I stopped in the drinks department (one of my favourite departments by the way!) and had a browse.

Then I saw Taboo. I had heard of it before, but had never seen or tried it.

The bottle was quite eye catching, and the description 'an intriguing blend of wine, exotic fruit juices and vodka.' sounded good.
?Taboo, ?intriguing? and ?exotic? all on the same label, this wasn't a drink, it was a new way of life!!

It cost about £7 a bottle, and I bought two , one for her and one for me.

I sat down that evening and poured myself a glass. I didn't add anything to it, the bottle said 14.9% and as someone who is rather partial to a neat Jack Daniels at 40%, I thought neat would be fine.

It tasted much, much stronger. The flavour was a kind of fruity sherry, with a kick!
After sipping slowly through my glass, I finally deigned to turn the bottle around, and read the back.

On the back, it recommended three cocktails;
Taboo and lemonade
Taboo Vodka (taboo, vodka, lime and lemonade)
and Taboo Woo Woo (taboo and cranberry juice)

It just so happened that I had some Cranberry juice in the fridge, so it was a Taboo Woo Woo for me!

Yum Yum!

Absolutely gorgeous, light, refreshing and tangy.

Since then I have been trying Taboo with various other fruit juices, and all are truly scrumptious.

When I saw my friend after her birthday, it turned out that she had done the same as me, tried to drink it neat and found it too strong, naturally I recommended the Taboo Woo Woo, and neither of us have ever looked back!

I remember trying this as a shot and gagging! Not a fan of wine based drinks I'm afraid, but I know a few people who are...

One of those drinks I look at, think 'hmm' and have never been brave enough to try! I stick to vodka mainly :)

Big thanks for all the reads and comments, btw :)
