Advantages: Has a very 'orangey' taste, Gives you a tingling sensation on the tongue, Is a classic soft drink

Disadvantages: Perhaps a little fizzy, Can be pricey in some places, Not that good for you

~Introduction~

As some of you may or may not know, I recently posted a review of the Tango television advertisements, which I think went down pretty well. I have chosen to review orange Tango, after buying a bottle of it yesterday, for the first time in a long while. I had just had an hour of badminton for my PE lesson at school and I was pretty thirsty afterwards. So, money in hand I marched up to the vending machine to find something of a product overhaul. The drinks on offer had changed, from Coke and Fanta to Pepsi and Tango. Having memories of Apple Tango tasting like cider and being bored of Coke and Pepsi, I punched in the code E4 and a bottle of orange Tango was released.

~Taste~

The taste of orange Tango is one that leaves you pretty satisfied. The flavour is pretty sharp and tangy; you really feel the orange flavour tingle on your tongue. It is much more noticeable than orange Fanta. It does resemble the taste of a tangerine pretty accurately and as I say, you do get that tangy sensation. It is often very fizzy and you won't be able to guzzle it down really quickly. It is very much a drink to savour and enjoy. I think that this drink, along with Sprite and water really do quench your thirst after exercise or on a really hot summers day. I give the taste a big thumbs up.

~Variations~

There are many different forms in which you can buy orange Tango. There are 2 litre and 500ml bottles and also the 330ml. I have generally found that it tastes much nice out of a can, I don't why that is but there is a difference. The bottles are good in their way, because you have the option of screwing the lid back on and saving some. There is also a diet option of the drink, but lets face it if you're going to have a soft drink you may as well go the whole hog. A diet drink isn't any better for you really.

~Pricing~

There do tend to be huge variations in the price that you pay for any measure of orange Tango. The price that you pay in a little newsagent or supermarket, are far less than in convenience stores or service stations. The cheapest price for the 330ml can is £0.55 in my local newsagent and the 500ml bottle at £0.80. The 2 litre bottle is priced at £1.28 in Asda, a multipack of six cans is £2.12 and a four pack of 500ml bottles is £2.48. It is worth buying a multipack and taking a can or bottle out with you every day. The prices are generally the same as most other soft drinks that you can buy, no more expensive but not any cheaper either.

~Conclusion~

I would definitely recommend orange Tango to anybody. It is a very tasty drink that you will never really get tired of, unless you drink it daily. It is nice than orange Fanta or Orangina by a long way, although they are all slightly different. The only real gripe that I have is with the 500ml bottles in that they are a really bizarre and sometimes awkward shape. They should have just stuck with the original form and kept things much simpler. If I had to give an overall rating out of ten, I would give it a seven. There are a couple of minor negatives and also it isn't the healthiest beverage that you can consume.
