Advantages: REFRESHING TASTE, GREAT VALUE

Disadvantages: THE SUGARY CONTENTS

I regularly buy a multi-pack of cans of pop to keep in my fridge until the notion for a fizzy drink hits me - usually this is once every couple of days or so.

I tend to buy lemonade or cola most of the time, which wouldn't actually be my first choice - I tend to buy these varieties because they are more readily available from my local grocer.

When out and about the other day, I noticed that a six pack of Tango Orange cans was available in my local "Farmfoods" frozen food store, for the credit crunch-friendly sum of one quid. Yes, six cans for only a quid!

I couldn't quite believe this tremendous bargain!! I've always loved orange flavoured drinks and furthermore, I regularly pay over a quid for a Tesco's-own brand multi-pack of cans which are nowhere near the same quality as Tango!

Having had the multi-pack of Tango in my fridge for a mere three days or so, I am rather ashamed to admit that I have had at LEAST one can per day since I brought it home. Tut! I honestly forgot how nice orange Tango tasted and will definitely be making a point of stocking up on these cans now that the warmer weather is nearly here!

The packaging is rather different from the can shown on the dooyoo page. The can I have is a black background with a fizzy-looking orange circle and the word Tango across the centre of the circle. It is most definitely more modern looking than the can shown on dooyoo, which I think looks very dated now!

Just as I am looking for the nutrition information I came across a little paragraph along the side of the can which informs me that "65% of people in blind taste tests said they preferred tango to the other branded leading orange fizzy drink." Tut! I hate statistics like this one! >:-o

The words "Voted top For Taste" appear along the top of the can which made me wonder about other orange-flavoured fizzy drinks that are readily available. Most shops-own branded ones are generally a bit 'cheap and nasty' for my tastes. And then there is Fanta, which I always enjoy when I am on holiday, but seldom buy it here for some reason.

As with all carbonated fizzy drinks, we should of course be aware of the damage that said drinks can do to our teeth... eeek! One 330ml can of orange Tango contains 4.3g per 100ml which is rather a lot. And I won't even ATTEMPT to list all of the sweeteners and uses of the word "Acid" that appear in the list of ingredients! Hmm. Let's move on!

All in all I would say that this drink is the best of the orange-flavoured drinks available (so I guess I DO agree with those 65% of people who took the taste test then!). It is very refreshing when chilled and whilst sweet is not overly sickly.

I would recommend the drink to anybody who likes similar fizzy drinks. It makes a refreshing change from cola or lemonade!

I am deducting one star because of all the rubbish in the ingredients - do we really need ALL of those sweeteners? (Maybe that's why it tastes so good?) :-(

For me, this is only a 4 star drink!

Summary: I've been tango-ed but i liked it! :-D

I do like Tango, prefer the apple tango myself though. Although I prefer Fanta anyday. I think Fanta is the 5 star drink ;) x
