Advantages: good flavour
Disadvantages: expensive
Yet another coffee in the Taylors of Harrogate range and this one is every bit as good as the Take It Easy variety except that it does have twice the caffeine in it.When I say that, I mean that is is regular strength, its just that the Take it Easy is only half the strength of this one. Does that seem clear? Described as rich Italian (well wouldn't we all like one of those? Nudge, nudge, wink, wink) it is rich, dark and full-bodied. Stick your nose in the bag and have a good sniff, but not too close or you'll end up with more up your nose than in your coffee machine and that just won't do you know. Anyway the smell is divine I tell you, simply divine so let's get brewing and I'll tell you about the taste. I'll get around to an opinion on my new coffee machine soon, honest I will. It does indeed make a perfect espresso (great for the morning after the night before I'd say) and of course it makes a great base for your cappuccino too. Of course you can make a good jug of filter coffee with it too. Again, the general guide is one dessertspoon of coffee per person, it's a good way to start off with, but not the law, you will find your own preference as you go along. It's a dark roast this one so you expect the flavour to be stronger and the description on the pack says it is bittersweet, but it is still smooth and easy to drink. I find that two mugs (sorry I don't do cups) is enough to satisfy my caffeine cravings for the day, and then I want a nice mug of tea whereas with the Take It Easy flavour I can drink it all day. Taylors have been around since 1886 and have a good reputation in the coffee world apparently. I found this quite funny to read, as I'd never heard of them until about a week ago!Showing my ignorance again there, but never mind that. Joking aside I've tried two of the blends that they make now and I've been very happy with both of them
so far. On the back of the pack they list the others in the range suitable for all occasions which are:- Café Imperial, a classic house blend. Decaffe, naturally decaffeinated. Dinner Party, rich, smooth after dinner coffee. Hot Java Lava, with a high caffeine kick. Lazy Sunday,a smooth coffee to linger over. I can't wait to try these out, but I may have to wait until I get a few more DooYoo miles in first, it's an expensive business this coffee lark once you get started, especially when you need lots and lots of chunky Kit Kats to go with it! Just adding the pack size here as Iforgot earlier. It's 227g,enjoy!
