Advantages: Soft on the palate, yet brimming with caffeine

At the moment, I am getting up each day at the dark and intimidating hour of 6:15am each day. I have two babies under two, and a wife who has been up breast-feeding in the night, so all 3 are not to be interrupted. I sneak across the landing, still wearing my bed-clothes, and tip-toe down the stairs. I don't wash, change, or brush my teeth until everyone gets up at 7am, but there is one part of my morning routine I cannot do without: a cup of tea.

Tea has been an integral part of my life for as long as I can remember. I HAVE to start the day with tea, and know tons of people who are the same. Now don't get me wrong, I drink coffee all day and all night, but I have to start the day with tea. Let me explain why:

1) It's hot - the warmth of a good brew spreads further with each mouth-ful.
2) It's caffeinated - whether I care to admit it or not, caffeine is an integral part of my life as a secondary school teacher, father of two, and now reviewer. The energy that comes from tea gives me the kick start to my morning that I need.
3) It's refreshing - After a night's sleep my mouth is dry, smelly and gunky - tea cleanses it like a hot spa.
4) It's gentle; the actual taste of tea is not too imposing (like coffee) and so wakes my palate gently each day.

So if you need a good wake-up in the morning, tea's the one to do it.

Summary: The number one morning drink - I love it!
