Cuppa? (Tea in general)

A cup of tea is probably one of the most British things ever - though apparently the Irish drink more than the British now!

Having said this, I'm not a big fan of tea. Even though my parents drink I was just never really interested though I don't have anything against tea in itself. I know some people are addicted to it and have lots of cups per day, but I prefer a good cup of hot chocolate.

I've never really tried conventional tea, but I did go through a phase of trying herbal and fruit teas. The fruit tea teabags themselves, with brands like Twinings, I find absolutely disgusting. Even made exactly to the instructions and steeped for ages, them don't taste of anything other than hot water with a slightly sweet aftertaste. They are also very expensive.

My favourite kind of tea is Whittard's power tea. I like the Apple and White Cranberry and most recently I've tried the Mulled Wine flavoured tea which is nice and sweet. It doesn't feel like I'm drinking tea though as it's made in the same way as hot chocolate - a few teaspoonfuls, boiling water and stir!

Even then I don't drink it very often as the tins are quite expensive. But when I'm in a phase of it I probably have about 4-5 cups a week and never more than one a day. It does contain a lot of sugar per cup!

There are millions of other brands and varieties out there but I don't know if I'd like them - is tea an acquired taste?! I would like to get more into healthy teas, especially green tea, but I don't think I could stomach it!

Summary: Not really my cup of tea!
