Premium Review Tesco active Isotonic Cherry: Very Cherry (709 words)

I've always been quite fond of isotonic drinks but since starting university this fondness has grown considerably, as they are brilliant for drinking in lectures. The well-known isotonic/sports drink brands such as Lucozade are however rather expensive and can cost anywhere up to £1.20 per bottle, which to me is more than a little overboard. For this reason I have looked for alternative brands and that's when I came across Tesco active isotonic sports drinks, which at 37p are a fraction of the price. I tried the Tropical version of this isotonic drink a few weeks ago and really liked it and so when I was in Tesco's the other day I decided to try their Cherry flavoured ...  Read the complete review

Before going to the gym today I did a little shopping and realised I needed to get a drink before going to the gym as I had left my bottled water at home. Now when I'm working out I drink gallons cos I sweat alot with working out so hard. I do drink alot of water but when I get really thirsty I find it really hard to quench it with plain water and that's why I have a real love of isotonic drinks. Not only do I find that the glucose levels up my energy levels somewhat but find that they really do quench my thirst very well and on the whole I enjoy the flavour. The Packaging: 500ml clear plastic bottle with ridges all over it for ease of ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tesco active Isotonic Cherry: A good knock-off. (232 words)

Tesco active Isotonic Cherry sports drink is a refreshing, tasty and rather eye-opening energy drink at a fairly competetive price. At around 50 pence a bottle, this is a notably strong and potent energy injection, and is surprisingly delicious. It has an expected sports-cap nozzle which prevents you from instinctively gulping it down like you would a regular drink, which you wouldn't want to do, since this isn't your standard drink. Oddly enough this drink is not carbonated at all, which came as something of a surprise to me when I bought it. Nonetheless, this made a welcome change from the tongue-burning chaos brought about by more conventional and popular ...  Read the complete review

If you exercise, and you need refulling then this is a cheaper alternative to the big brands like Lucozade and gaterade. Tescos have come up with a drink that gives you energy, and tastes nice. Im not exactly sure how it gives you energy, theres a whole load of complicated words on the bottle, although it does say that it contains no artificial flavours or colours. Theres a lot of sugar in this drink, but no fat which is great, as you dont want to be putting fat on that youve just worked off. I buy these in packs of 4 for £1.69. Each bottle is 500ml. This works out a lot cheaper than buying the bottles seperately, and compared to ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Tesco active Isotonic Cherry: A great value energy drink (190 words)

Tesco Active Isotonic Sports drink comes in cherry, tropical and blueberry flavours, and whilst they are all nice the cherry flavour is by far and away the best tasting. The drink is very thirst-quenching and full of glucose and electrolytes, meaning that it is ideal for giving you an extra energy boost while exercising or for rehydrating yourself in hot weather, and is also useful for boosting concentration during lectures or whilst at work. Each bottle comes with a nozzle meaning that the bottle can be squeezed and the drink squirted, making it ideal for use when out jogging. A four pack will set you back around £1.50, which at under 40 pence per bottle ...  Read the complete review
