A good cranberry and raspberry flavour drink

I drink a lot of fizzy drinks during the week because I spend a lot of my time on the go and tend to eat out quite a lot. Plus I do just like the taste of them so they're usually my drink of choice during the week. However, when I start to feel a little guilty about how often I drink them I pick up a fruit juice and my two favourites are orange juice and cranberry and raspberry flavour. The drink is a very dark red colour and it looks very refreshing. The drink contains only 6% Cranberry Juice From Concentrate and 6% Raspberry Juice From Concentrate. This is a little disappointing as for a fruit juice I would prefer for much of the juice to be from actual fruit but frankly I'm someone who prefers flavour to nutrition. For this reason I'm pretty sure it doesn't count towards your five a day, but like I say I drink it for the flavour rather than anything else. It is very sweet as you would expect from berry flavous. One of the reasons I tend to prefer cranberry mixed with another fruit is that on its on it tends to dry out my mouth and can often leave me just as thirsty as I was beforehand, and I find other flavours maintain the nice flavour but get rid of this effect. As it is an own brand fruit juice drink it is much cheaper than name brands which I must admit is the only reason I opted to buy it in the first place. A one litre carton costs £1.20 but often there is a deal of 3 for £3 which I think is great value. This deal is especially good as it includes all flavour juices they offer so you can mix and max with other flavours like apple or orange. I tend to do this to keep from getting bored of one flavour which I tend to do if I keep to one for too long. Overall this is a very tasty cheap drink that while I definitely am first to admit it is noway near a very healthy wholesome drink, it still makes up for it in other areas. The flavour is very fruity and very close to the natural flavour, and the cost of a cartoon is very reasonable. While I would prefer to buy real juice drinks, I find often I just can't afford it so this makes a nice alternative.

Substitute fizzy drinks with fruity drinks

I recently bought the Tesco's Cranberry and raspberry juice drink on offer of 3 for £4. It is available in the refrigerated fresh juice aisle. Tesco has a lot of flavours in this range. It is available in a 1 litre carton with a cap opening on top. The cap can be easily opened and poured without any spillage. The carton is made of cardboard and can be recycled. It has a picture of juicy raspberries cranberries on them- this was the tempting factor for me to buy this juice. Ingredients- Water, Glucose Fructose syrup, Cranberry juice from concentrate (6%), raspberry juice from concentrate (6%), sugar, malic acid, natural flavourings, Vitamin C Colour- The juice is transparent red in colour- similar to some red wines or pomegranate juice. They look vibrant in a glass too. Taste- It tastes really nice- obviously you can taste the berries, but it is nice and sweet without actually overpowering the fruit taste. They can be mixed with other drinks like apple or orange or even alcoholic drinks to make great tasting ans great looking cocktails. It tastes better when served chilled. Storage and shelf life- It has to be kept refrigerated. They usually have expiry dates of a month or so which is much shorter than longlife fruit juices. But once opened it hasto be used within 5 days. They taste a little sweeter and better than similar drinks from the longlife range. good facts- A glass of 250 ml of juice contains 125 calories and 29.5 gms of sugar. But also has the goodness of cranberries and raspberries. They are great alternatives to fizzy drinks or alcohol. If you don't have time or are too lazy to take fruits, at least substitute them with healthy fruit drinks like this.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          Nicely refreshing and healthy

Having suffered from a few Urinary Tract Infections in the past, I am keen to drink at least some cranberry juice a few times a week. I'm not very fond of the taste of it though as it can be quite bitter, so I was looking for something that contained cranberry juice with an added twist to appeal more on the taste front. This combination of cranberry and raspberry seemed ideal in that respect. ***The Juice*** As you might expect from a juice drink that contains both cranberry and raspberry juice, this is a dark red colour. Judging from the packaging, it doesn't seem to actually contain that much in the way of either of those juices, which is quite disappointing considering that I was hoping that a large glass would count as one of my five a day. ***The Taste*** The overriding taste is of cranberry, but there is just enough of a hint of raspberry to take away some of the bitterness of the cranberry. ***The Price*** I don't shop at Tesco too much so I'm not sure how standard this price offer is but it was on a four for £3 offer, which is pretty good value.

            Refreshing juice

Tesco Cranberry and Raspberry Juice Drink Over the summer I have made a concerted effort to switch from coke and other fizzy drinks to fruit juices and other alternatives. Generally I have tried to stick to the light variety but I have on occasion felt that I deserved the full sugar hit and tried other varieties. One of the ones that I tried was the Cranberry and Raspberry Juice Drink. Where to buy and cost The drink comes in a 1 litre carton and is usually included in Tescos long term offer of 4 for £3.00. I am almost certain that Tesco changed this and that is used to be 3 for £2.00. This was a bit sneaky as the 3 for £2.00 is a better offer and it doesn't benefit anyone who has to carry the juice home. Nutrition A 100ml glass of this drink has 48 calories and 11.6 grams of sugar. My opinion I would know but if we ever had any nice warm sunny days throughout the summer I would imagine that this drink would go down a treat. Cranberry is full of health benefits but it's notoriously difficult for some people to drink due to its unique taste. Personally I don't mind it but the addition of the raspberry flavour makes this drink taste very fruity and is extremely easy to drink. Like most drinks of this kind its best served chilled. I have even used it as a mixer. I really like this drink. It does have high sugar content and this makes it taste a lot sweeter than the lighter version. Overall I would recommend this product.
