Tesco Dark Rum is nice and cheap compared to leading brands like Morgan Spiced and Captain Morgan. When I bought it two weeks ago, it was £10.49 for a litre bottle but the website is now showing it for £11.19. A slight price increase, but still much cheaper than the brand names. For comparison, Morgan Spiced is £20.96 per litre and Captain Morgan is £14.29 per litre. So at the newly increased price, this isn't even that much cheaper than the premium brands. Wishing to reduce our weekly budget somewhat yet not wanting to completely dry up my occasional love of a rum and coke, I perused the aisles of the spirits the other day in Tesco in the hope of finding a substitute for my usual tipple of either Mount Gay or Morgan's Spiced Rum. My gaze rested upon this, and I pondered for a few moments before hesitantly putting it in my basket.
