Advantages: Tasty, Affordable

Disadvantages: Cheap Packaging, Sugary

When our grandson was ill, we had a lot of this in the house as it was a good food substitute for him when he wasn't eating properly. It's by no means a meal replacement for either an adult or a child, but the high fat content and calcium and protein made it an ideal drink for our grandson when he was struggling to eat properly due to an illness.

This costs £1.18 for a litre, which is a bit on the high side but then milk has become increasingly expensive of late. For that price, you do get a really nice chocolate milk.

I find that this is a lovely thick drink that's superb for chilling the throat as it goes down. A little tip is that this is ideal for you if you've ever got severe tonsilitis and are struggling to swallow food. It fills you up and chills your poor throat at the same time! I wouldn't say it's as thick as the premium brands like Frijj, but I would say that it's plenty thick enough.

I find the flavour of this is strong without being over powering. It's quite sweet, but the strongest flavours to come through are milk and chocolate, rather than sugar. I like that there's an undertone of cream to the flavour as well, as it gives the flavour depth. I also really like the after taste of this drink, and find it lingers for a good little while after drinking a glass.

The only problem with this is that it's high in fat and sugar, and of course it shouldn't be a substitute for water or no added sugar squash which are both much better for you. It's great as a treat though, and great for slim kids who need a boost due to illness or with their breakfast if they refuse to have regular milk.

Note that the packaging for this has recently changed. Up until very recently, you could get this in a plastic bottle, but it now comes in a carton which isn't as convenient as it's more awkward to hold and pour. I've knocked off a star for the new cheap packaging.

My daughter drank lots of these when she was pregnant (this and the banana flavour) as she couldn't keep anything solid down for a while.

The sugar is one of these makes my eyes glow, I'm not even a diabetic!
