Advantages: The price is great for a fantastic cup of coffee

Disadvantages: Can't use the jar after for storing things!!!

I only like to drink coffee, as since I had my last child ( 19 years ago!!) I can not stomach tea at all. I like my coffee to be a bit frothy on top rather than looking like a cup of mud water. I also like it to be very strong, I do on the odd occasion buy coffee beans to grind and make a proper cup of coffee in a coffee maker. This has become more and more less lately due to price they charge for the beans, so I started looking for a cheaper version of coffee in the instant form. I'm usually drawn to the Douwe Egberts jar as it is eye catching with it's pull of lid ( if you pull to hard it can go everywhere which I have done on more than 1 occasion!) and storage jar look about it.

If this is on special at the supermarket then I will buy it with out doubt, but
I don't seem to see it that often. So when I run out I have to look for an
alternative which I have now found. This Tesco Gold coffee is really good,
when made it is right behind my favourite one. It produces that frothy top
and has a lovely smooth taste to it. I believe that these coffees are freeze dried which must be why they give the perfect froth top.

To buy Douwe Egberts would cost you £2.99 for a 100g jar, but I discovered
this Tesco Gold for £1.34 for a 100g jar. Quite a large saving !! Less than half price!! With the taste being so similar it would be hard to notice the difference between the two. So from now on I will be buying the Tesco Gold,
unless the other one comes on special. Only for the reason that my Tesco one only has a screw top lid, even though it is a nice gold lid I would just recycle these ones, where I can use the other jar for storing items like raisins, currants, rice ect....

My husband isn't keen on these coffee's as he says they leave a thick brown
line around the top of the cup, but thats what dishwashers are for isn't it!!

There is not a lot of information on this jar, except that it is suitable for
vegetarians, store in a cool dry place and use before Jun 11. There is a guide
for different strengths 1 being Mild to 5 being Strong, this one is a 3 being
Medium. I always put my milk in with the coffee first as I find that helps it
keep it's frothy top! So if you enjoy coffee then I would strongly recommend
you give this jar of coffee a go!!!

Summary: This really is a lovely cup of coffee!

My OH is picky over his coffee and loves Douwe Egberts, we'll definitely give this one a go. ;)
