Advantages: Nice taste for an instant coffee

Disadvantages: Not as good as freshly ground

I'm not a big coffee drinker when I'm at home although I do tend to drink it when I'm out and about especially if I have some time to kill, a nice coffee and a good book is a nice way to while away an hour or two.

At home I rarely drink coffee unless I'm at home in the afternoon and feel a bit jaded then I find it can be a good pick me up, also if we have friends staying over then I would get the coffee machine outto make it fresh however if it is just me then I make do with instant coffee and with regards to taste and value for money I have found that Tesco Gold is pretty hard to beat.

It comes in a clear jar with a dark brown screw top lid and you can see the dark coffee granules on the inside of the jar. The coffee granuals are not overly dark and are more of a chocolate brown colour.

I find that a level tea spoon is about strong enough for me and I always take my coffee black wit nothing added. I has a rich coffee taste whch is not at all harsh and certainly not weak tasting like some instant blends especially those atthe bottom end of the price range. While it is not as strong and full bodied as freshly ground coffee it does have a nice taste and it smells quite rich as well when it is in the cup.

For me this is by far the best own label instant coffee that I have tried and given that I do not drink it that often get a lot of use out of a jar.
