Tesco 100% Red grape and yumberry juice can be found in the chilled sections of all tesco stores. Yumberry? What's a yumberry I hear you ask? Well according to the back of the carton these are exotic berries from China that have been consumed since ancient times. Researching a little further on google, these berries are more properly known as Yang-mei fruit and are the latest superfood to hit the UK supermarket shelves. They resemble a large raspberry and are rich in antioxidants and vitamin C. They are also supposedly good for digestion.
I love grape juice so was interested to give this a try. Priced at £1.95 for a 1 litre carton, it is a little on the expensive side, but is often part of a 2 for £2.50 offer. The front of the pack has a picture of a bunch of red grapes and some yumberries. There is also some nutritional information - a glass counts as one of your 5 a day and contains 139 calories. The juice is not 100% fresh as it is partially made from concentrate. The juice has to be kept refrigerated and once opened consumed within 3 days.
The juice itself is a beautiful deep red colour and smells quite acidic and musky, but in a pleasant way. The first sip is quite sharp and really wakes up the taste buds. The taste is very crisp, rather like cranberry juice, and is very refreshing. Once the original sharpness passes you get the sweetness of the grapes coming through, but this is not too sweet. I really liked the taste and found it quite refreshing. It'd be a great thirst quencher for a hot summers day! I'd definately recommend this and its an easy way to one of your 5 a day!
