Advantages: Healthy.

Disadvantages: Not as creamy as semi-skimmed, much thinner.

As a child I always had semi-skimmed milk. I didn't like cream, so semi-skimmed was just the right taste and consistency for me. A couple of years ago I switched to skimmed as it has next to no fat, but it has a different taste (less creamy) and thinner consistency which took a while of getting used to. Now, however, I can't stand semi-skimmed as that is far too thick and creamy for me!

As do other brands of skimmed milk, Tesco Skimmed Milk comes in a plastic bottle (which can be recycled) with a red label and lid. It is available in a variety of volumes, for example 1 or 2 pints. To be honest, it tastes the same as any other brand of skimmed milk, even premium ones such as "Cravendale".

Not only good for use in tea, on cereal or just in a glass on its own, Tesco Skimmed Milk is also good in cooking (for example, in pancakes).

At less than 1% fat, skimmed milk is significantly healthier for you than semi-skimmed or full fat. If you are thinking of switching to skimmed, I would suggest trying it for a couple of weeks in cups of tea/coffee and on cereal. Even if you don't like it at first, you soon get used to it!

Summary: A shock to the tastebuds at first, but they soon get used to it!
