Advantages: Cheap, nice taste
Disadvantages: Not quite as good quality as other brands
I don't drink a hell of a lot of fizzy drinks but I do like to have a glass of something fizzy on a hot day or in the evening after my dinner. My favourite is Dr Pepper but I also love having some lemonade in the house. This Tesco Sparkling Diet Lemonade is the one we get.
It is a brilliant price. You can get a 2litre bottle in Tesco for 47p so it's really kind on your wallet. It's actually on offer at the moment until the 19th June and you can get it for 37p, so thats even better!
The packaging is simple but looks attractive. It has a light blue label round the middle with the name of the product plus an image of some refeshing looking sparkly lemonade. On the back is all the necessary allergy advice, nutritional info, storage instructions and ingredients.
The lemon flavour is tasty, it is not too strong but does have a distinct lemon flavour. If you prefer lemonade to have a stronger lemony taste which is more like real lemonade you probably won't be too keen on this. But I personally enjoy the flavour of this lemonade - it's sweet, light and satisfying. It's not overly fizzy but just enough so that it provides you with a pleasant bubbly sensation when it's in your mouth and throat. It's wonderfully refreshing and cold - perfect for the warm summer days we've been getting.
It's a great mixer for things like Archers, vodka or to use in cocktails. As it's cheap it doesn't matter if you get through a fair bit of it. It also tastes good with orange juice to make a tasty fizzy orange drink. It would also be nice to have at a children's parties etc as it's a nice sweet, lemony taste but is diet as well as being low in price.
The nutritional info is good news. 250ml of this drink contains 3 calories and just traces of fat, saturates, salt and sugar (although the botte states in contains 'naturally occuring sugars'). So this is a fizzy drink you can enjoy without feeling guilty. Ingredients wise it contains: carbonated water, lemon juice from concentrate, citric acid, acidity regulator (sodium citrate), natural flavourings, preservative (potassium sorbate) and sweetner (aspartame).
Overall, a decent lemonade drink that can be enjoyed by everyone. Some of the more expensive lemonades probably do provide a slightly better flavour but this one is genuinely nice in it's own right and the price is unbeatable.
Summary: Overall a nice lemonade for a great price
