      Great stuff

I have been buying some great lemonade from Tesco's - it is their sparkling lemonade and it is really a fab drink! The bottle is see through and plastic and the standard sized 2 litre bottle you get most fizzy pos in nowadays. It cost me 54p which I thought was a real bargain. I am a fan of all sorts of fizzy pops and I am always up for trying a new one whenever I can.

I am happy to give this to the little lad as it contains no artificial flavours or colours and the bottle states that it also contains 'real lemon juice'. Actually, as soon as I take off the twist off cap I can really smell the delicious aroma of lemons, and that is before I have even tasted it.

This drink is best served chilled and I have to say it is really fizzy. The sign of a good fizzy pop is how much it makes you burp after your first mouthful, and this one makes me burp good and proper! The little lad thinks it's hilarious. It is not a diet drink though and it is fairly loaded with calories but for all that, it is not too sweet and it is very thirst quenching and great to drink on a hot summer's day in the back garden. I love a long drink of this after I get back the house at night after being at work all day. It really is very refreshing and I love to take a glass upstairs with me when I have my Friday bah or even at the side of the bed at night in case I get a bit thirsty during the night.

The other thing I really like about this drink is that it retains its bubbles for ages after it has been opened. A lot of fizzy pops can go flat very quickly after being opened, but I find that this one stays fizzy for ages, even if my dear other half has failed to screw the cap on properly after she has had some!

Overall, I cannot really fault this great fizzy drink at all. It is cheap and tastes great and is remarkable fizzy just as s good pop should be!

      Highly recommended.

Nice summery drink with life in it!

Not very often do I purchase lemonade however it is a preferred mixer drink FOR me and my friend who love malibu and all kinds of rum so the other day whilst we were in out local Tesco store we got ourselves a bottle of this.

      The Packaging:

We got a 2L bottle of this which is see-through and plastic with a dark blue twist on/off plastic cap to the top of it and around the main of the bottle there is a blue and white coloured label and on the front of that we are shown a photograph of the drink with a slice of lemon in it and told that it is Tesco Sparkling Lemonade 'With Lemon Juice' and that it contains no artificial flavours or colours and there is an at a glance nutritional chart shown. other information listed on the bottle includes ingredients and allergy advice being given, cautions are given as well as a full nutritonal chart, the size is stated (as I have listed already) and contact details for Tesco are given. Nice enough, informative bottle this is.

      The Drink Itself:

Well Tesco do do a diet version of this but I have to admit to trying it before and not liking it which meant me and my mate chose this. Upon opening the clear and transparent liquid it does have a zesty fragance of lemons to it with a hint of natural sweetness and you can hear the gentle fizz this drink has to it.

As a drink, alone or as a mixer, in my opinion this does need to be serves chilled and I have to admit I rather like it and even drank this one not mixed with alcohol! It has a sweet but zesty taste of lemons and doesnt taste of any kind of sweeteners which I really do appreciate but naturally and sugary sweet without tasting syrupy. Once poured it stays gently fizzy too for a good while and doesn't go flat and lifeless.

I appreciated this as already said on its own cold as a refreshing pleasant drink of pop but we did use plenty of it as a mixer and once again this was great and gave spirit a kick up the bum with its gentle fizz and kick of zesty lemons and we liked this one and couldn't believe the price we paid for it for the quality we got. A must have product this is to us now!

Only available in Tesco stores costing 57p for a 2L bottle of it!

Great value lemonade, giving larger brands a run for there money :)

You would never expect an own brand superstore product to be better than the large brands out there, but I feel this is so much better than other lemonade brands out there! It has an amazing taste and is much cheaper than the others around it on the shelf. You can pick up a large 2L bottle for only 59p. This is outstanding value given how great it is to drink.

An average 250 Ml serving of this is said to contain 45 calories, this is very low compared to other fizzy drinks on the market, who tend to have a much higher calorie count! It does have 10grams of sugar though per serving. this isnt great, but if you have it in moderation, it will do you no harm at all. My family must be addicted to this stuff, we go through quiete a few bottles of this stuff a week. Its not expensive so im not really too bothered!

We use this mainly as a mixer with other drinks! I enjoy putting this into lager, its great for a lager top.My mum also puts a drop of this in her wine. In the summer its also nice to add to cordial such as lemon or orange. It tastes great! What I love most aboutt it is that it actually has a really nice lemon flavour. Most cheap lemonades taste horrible. This has a great after taste and will leave you refreshed!

The packaging is rather basic, just blue with the words tesco sparkling lemonade on it. Its nothing special to look at, but who really cares! It does the job and far exceeds the expectations of people who drink it. I would recommend you give this a try, rather than the bigger brands, because this tastes just as good, maybe even better!

        thanks for reading :)

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

a good lemonade, high in sugar content

Now I usually buy diet fizzy pop whenever I can but I recently nipped to my local Tesco express after a bottle of lemonade to make cocktails and they did not have any diet lemonade so I opted for their own non-diet version.

The cost of a two litre bottle of this lemonade is currently £0.52 which I think is pretty good value. I do normally find that shops own brand lemonade to be of good quality and they are more than half the price of branded versions.

The lemonade comes in a clear 2 litre plastic bottle with a blue screw cap top. The bottle has a plastic label wrapped around the middle of the bottle. On the front of the label there is the Tesco name, and description of the contents 'sparkling lemonade made with lemon juice', it also states that the lemonade contains no artificial colours or flavours. There is also basic nutritional information on the front for a 250ml serving of the lemonade. On the front too there is a picture of a glass of lemonade with a wedge of lemon being dropped into it. All of this information is repeated twice on the label. If you spin the bottle around you will find a rectangular panel on the label providing you with all of the detailed product information such as ingredients and full nutritional information.

The nutritional information for a 250ml serving of this lemonade is:
        Calories - 43
        Sugar - 10.3g
        Fat - 0.0g
        Saturates - 0.0g
        Salt - Trace
This lemonade is also suitable for vegetarians.

I found this lemonade fairly nice and for a non-diet lemonade it was not too sweet. I was little disappointed by the lack of lemon flavour, but when I looked at the ingredients listings I realised this was probably because it only contains 2% lemon juice from concentrate. It did though make an excellent mixer for my cocktails, I also drank a couple of glasses on its own and thought it was very nice. The lemonade was very fizzy when first opened and kept its fizz for a couple of days before going a little flat. All in all a good quality, good value simple lemonade, I would recommend it and buy it again if the diet version was not available.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        .

I sometimes buy Supermarket own brand Juice and find most of them to be ok. There is some Juices that I wouldn't buy in Supermarket versions which are Coca Cola and Irn Bru but everything else is ok in my eyes.

This comes in a 2 litre bottle and the right price of this costs 48p the last time I bought it which was just the other week. I have been buying this off and on for a few years and alternate between this one and Asda's version.

The bottle for this is just the average looking bottle. Just a simple clear plastic bottle with a wrap around label. All ok and does the job.

When you open this bottle is gives a good amount of Bubbles through the Juice but I know that some Juices appear to be Fizzy when you look at them but they aren't Fizzy to taste but this one is alright. I tend to pour a good enough sized Glass of Juice and sip it over a few hours in the house and although this goes a little bit flatter than when you first pour this it still seems to retain a bit of Fizz even through this Juice has been lying out for a bit.

The taste of this is nice. It isn't too strong a Lemon taste but just a nice sweet Lemon tang which tastes quite a natural taste.

This comes in a Diet version as well as this one so there is a diet friendly one out there for whoever wants it. Per 100ml this has 44 calories so pretty average for a full calorie Juice.

There isn't really anything else to say about this. This has a nice crisp taste, the price is good and it keeps the Fizz good enough. A worthwhile buy.

        Tesco value says it all

I used to run a mile whenever anyone mentioned those dreaded words "Tesco value" With ever tightening purse strings and an addiction to all things fizzy I took the plunge and bought a bottle of Tesco lemonade. At 49p for a 2 litre bottle it is exceptional value and I often add a bottle or two to my weekly shop.

I would have to describe the taste as practically nonexistent and it tends to go flat rather quickly but it is an ideal cheap product for adding a bit of fizz to the fruit juice of your choice. I have also sampled it with Bacardi and Vodka and on both occasions I was more than satisfied. As a mixer I can barely tell the difference between this and a more recognised, expensive brand.

It will never be the most exciting product in your fridge but if you are on a budget then this may be the product for you.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Good for mixing but not on its own.

I originally put in a review suggestion for Tesco Value lemonade. However that got rejected on the grounds that this product (above) is similar.
Similar yes. In the way that I as a human, am similar to Brad Pitt. Both are lemonade but one is definitely the 'value range'
So, this review isn't for the product above, but for the VALUE version in Tesco.

The price is currently 18p for 2 litres. Yes that's a lot of liquid for your cash, but as with most things in life, there's a reason for that. As a stand alone drink it's really not that nice and its relationship to real lemons is what could be described as 'distant'. I would describe the flavour as vaguely reminiscent of lemons but with a distinctly chemical hint to it. There's no real depth to the flavour which would lead me to describe the it as 'hollow'.
The way round this is to boost this is to add to it and this is where I think the drink's strengths lie. Don't bother using it on it's own - or maybe give it to children who know no different. Use it as a mixer or to give bubbles to sometihng else. Mix it with ribena for example - whack in some ice and maybe a sprig of mint and you have a nice drink. Perhaps use it in Pimms, thought you may be a purist and need a full-sugar version for that. Something I've been using it for is at parties. Let's face it, people don't really care what mixers go in their drinks at a rowdy party and so this VALUE lemonade is brilliant. There's no point spending plenty of cash on decent lemonade for mixers when it's only going to be mixed with cheap vodka and other stuff that's been lurking in the back of the cupboard.

Overall. Don't buy it to drink on its own, it's not good. But if you have children who know no different or there's a party coming up, at 18p you can't go wrong.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

A high quality lemonade at a low price - brilliant!

I usually shop at Tesco's and this lemonade has been a regular favourite for a while now. I was initially attracted by the low price, as it costs just 49p for a 2 litre bottle. I've continued to buy this again and again as I really enjoy the taste and the price is excellent!

This Sparkling Lemonade comes in a standard plastic bottle with a screw top lid. It is easy to spot the difference between the diet and regular versions as the regular lemonade has a darker coloured label. The packaging is pretty plain but it clearly shows you everything you need to know. The bottle can be recycled after use.

The lemonade is completely clear with lots of tiny little bubbles in it. It has a nice strong fizzy feel to it and this is very refreshing. The lemon flavour is noticeable and it balances out just the right amount of sour and sweet flavours to make a lovely lemon flavoured drink. This is made using real lemon juice which is pretty good for a budget product. The sparkling element of the lemonade can die down fairly quickly depending on how quickly you can drink your way through the whole bottle. When it starts to go flat it still tastes good though, and has a lovely sweet syrupy taste to it.

I don't drink fizzy drinks very often but I do have particular favourites and can be quite fussy about the taste of certain brands. This Tesco Sparkling Lemonade has a great flavour and is the perfect accompaniment to a junk food binge, take-away dinner, or for mixing cocktails on a girlie night in. To make a tropical Blue Lagoon cocktail you simply mix 1.5 measure of vodka, 1.5 measure blue Curaco, and then top up with lemonade. Serve with ice and a slice and there you have it, a gorgeous glamorous drink! The lemonade tastes great and does not come across as being cheap at all, it has a really good flavour to it and is very versatile.

This Sparkling Lemonade is an absolute bargain and I would definitely recommend it. I always go for this lemonade over named brand drinks as it has a lovely taste and you make a considerable saving. Great on its own or for mixing tasty cocktails. A high quality lemonade at a low price - brilliant!

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

A nice drink overall at a good price.

I bought some Lemonade the other day as I needed a mixer for some Vodka I had left over that I fancied drinking. I bought the cheapest I could find in the Tesco Express and the bottom of my road as I'm trying to save money at the moment. I ended up buying this one for 56p, which was quite a good price for 2 litres of fizzy lemonade.

It comes in a regular 2 litre clear plastic bottle with a blue screw cap on the top. There is the label round the middle which on the front has the product name and a picture of a lemon and water and on the rear it contains all the usual information.

When buying own brand products, they can sometimes be either really good or really bad. As I was drinking it with Vodka, I wanted it to have a nice taste so that it would make a nice tasting Vodka & Lemonade. I had a bit of the lemonade alone to try it's taste and I was pleasantly surprised. I found that it has a slightly sweet taste to it and isn't too fizzy. It tastes similar to more expensive brands that I have tried before. On mixing it with Vodka, it made a very nice drink that reminded me of a Lemon & Lime drink. The taste of the lemonade seemed to complement the vodka well. The lemonade is a very drinkable drink on it's own as it has a nice taste and doesn't make you too gassy. The only downside to it is that I couldn't taste any real lemon/bitter taste to it. I would only want to be a slight taste, but I couldn't taste anything sadly.

I would recommend this to others as it is very good value for money. As I bought it from the Express store, I would expect that you could find it a bit cheaper in one of there main supermarkets as they do tend to charge more for things in the Express stores. I will give this 4/5 due to not being able to taste any lemon/bitter element to it.

          Thanks for reading my review.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

A good tasting lemonade for a fraction of the price.

The Tesco Sparkling Lemonade is a nice alternative to the more expensive branded lemonades such as sprite and 7 UP. I do not like food colouring and additives so I prefer drinks that are made from pure fruit juices. I dislike cola because of the enormous sugar content and the excessive additives and so I try very hard to stay away from those types of drinks.

I know that sugar is bad for the teeth as is carbonated drinks but when drunk in moderation it should not cause the enamel of the teeth to wear. This is something that I make sure doesn't happen as we only get one set of teeth (after the baby teeth) and so looking after them is important.

Lemonade in my opinion is the best carbonated drink compared to the others on the market because although it contains a hefty amount of sugar (3.6g per100ml) it does not contain artifical colours or preservatives. It tastes refreshing and light. It is great for summer picnics. For 2 litres it costs only 49p which is £1 less than branded lemonade. It does not taste cheap at all unlike the Tesco cola the taste is comparable to the branded versions.Although I don't think it tastes as good as sprite and 7 Up, it is defiantly good for the price.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          Why pay more?

Tesco sells lots of own brand versions of favourite products. As I am always on a mission to save money I like to try their own versions to see if they are just as good. Sometimes their own attempts are really rubbish, but sometimes they are just as good as the more expensive brands. This is one of those occasions where they are just as good, and it made me decide never to buy more expensive lemonade again!

Tescos lemonade comes in 2l bottles for around 80p or smaller bottles in multipacks. Ideal if you are not going to use much and don't want to lose the fizz and make it go flat between uses.

The lemonade comes in a clear plastic bottle with a blue label around the front with the picture of a fizzy glass and a big chunk of lemon. You can also get this in a diet version too.

The drink is clear (not yellow and cloudy like REAL lemonade) and fizzy. It is very fizzy when you first open the bottle, but it needs to all be drunk within a few days so it doesn't go flat.

The lemon taste of the drink is evident and nice but not too strong, bitter and overpowering. It just has the right balance of lemon to give it flavour, but is nice and sweet to take away from the lemon flavours downside!

Everything you could want from lemonade is in this bottle. If you want reduced sugar try the diet version, but there really is no need to spend more money!

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          A great mixer!

I generally buy Schweppes Lemonade but prior to a party recently and being short of cash I purchased a couple of bottles of Tesco Lemonade and was pleasantly surprised.

          Appearance:

Well it looks like a bottle of lemonade, it is in a clear two litre plastic bottle so you can see the clear lemonade, it has a blue wrapper across the middle with a picture of a glass of lemonade and a slice of lemon. It doesn't look cheap it looks good quality and I have to say it tastes it too.

          Price:

At 42p for two litres it is damned good value and compares with £1 for two litres of schweppes or R Whites Lemonade at Iceland. It works out at 21p per litre and is not much more expensive than water (although obviously it is a tad more calorific!!).

          Ingredients:

Carbonated Water, Glucose-fructose Syrup, Citric Acid, Acidity Regulator (Sodium Citrate), Flavourings, Sweeteners (Aspartame, Sodium Saccharin), Preservative (Sodium Benzoate). (This product may also contain nuts traces!!).

          Health wise:

There are apparently 15 calories per 100ml, so its not the worst drink for you ever, there is 3.6g of sugar too so be careful as too much will damage your teeth.

          Taste:

It tastes like lemonade, its bubbly, lemony and a great mixer, we use it with spirits, to soften beer and wine and it is lovely and bubbly and well worth the 42p. It is more flexible than other soft drinks and absolutely awesome value so I would definitely recommend it.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          Try some Tesco lemonade

Tesco lemonade is something that regularly appears in my kitchen. Its a great, cheap drink from Tesco.

Tescos lemonade comes in a clear, plastic 2 litre bottle with a blue label. They always seem to have lots stocked on the shelves in my local Tesco, so you cant miss it! A bottle costs around 40p, which is less than half the price of the leading brands such as schweppes.

I think depending on how much you like 'lemony' lemonade will depend on how much you like this drink. This drink definitely tastes of lemon, but nowhere near as much as the leading brands. I would say this tastes more of a hint of lemon rather than a full blown lemon taste. The lemonade is really fizzy and once opened doesnt loose its fizz too quickly.

I regularly use lemonade as either a mixer for my malibu/vodka or with orange juice, so I dont often drink it on its own and for me this does the job and I see no point in buying anything more expensive. My other half likes nothing more than a glass of lemonade and finds this perfect.

My only complaint with Tesco lemonade is the fact that the bottles are really difficult to open. I can rarely open the bottles and have to rely on my other half to do it for me. This is not a problem I have with any other brand and I find it really odd and annoying.

I think this is a great buy from Tesco and if you always buy the expensive branded products, it might be worth just giving this a go and saving a few extra pennies.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

Great lemonade with all the flavour

Tesco's own brand items are not usually something I would buy as they tend to be appalling, or at least that is the impression I have on them from my limited experience with them. But for every rule there are exceptions which prove them, and one of the exceptions to the Tesco's own brand item rule is their lemonade.

The first thing you notice, if like me you don't tend to read labels while shopping, but rather wait until your stupidly bored and one is staring you in the face, is the taste, which is really the most important thing. It actually tastes like lemonade should taste, its fizzy and with just that hint of a bite from the lemons without it being bitter lemon instead of lemonade.

Second is how easy it is to drink, it hasn't been over carbonated, which means you can drink it without having to take a break after one sip to let your mouth recover. Normally that would mean it goes flat in no time but not so. 3 days after opening there is still an obvious fizz in the drink.

With all this put together you would expect there to be millions of different chemicals in the bottle but again Tesco have come up trumps, the only added chemicals are Sodium Citrate as an Acidity Regulator and Potassium Sorbate is added as a Preservative. There are also "Natural Flavourings" used in the Lemonade but they are not listed.

          A typical 250ml serving contains
          Calories 110 6%GDA
          Sugar 26.7g 30%GDA
          Fat 0g 0%GDA
          Saturates 0g 0%GDA
          Salt trace <1%GDA

Which for a soft drink isn't terrible.

So its got the flavour, the fizz and the facts to match. Overall looks pretty good to me, and it tastes great.

It looses one for the sugar content which seems a little too high for me, and will probably send the kids to the moon and back in 17 seconds
