      Great drink, very refreshing

I have recently been drinking Tesco's own brand Spritz Mexican Lime. This drink comes in a standard plastic see through bottle with a twist off cap and it contains one litre of drink. The drink is pale green in colour and looks quite nice, I think.

I like to try different sorts of fizzy drinks and I like nothing better than a long day at work, coming home, reaching into the fridge for a cold soft drink and then having a nice cup of tea. I liked the fact that this drink looked like it might be really very refreshing.

The bottle it is in looks very similar to a bottle of tonic water, if I was forced to describe it. It isn't one of those large Coke bottles, but a slightly more refined looking bottle. It is definitely best served as cold as possible and it is nice served over ice.

I have drunk this pop both on it's own and also mixed with whisky, which is also rather nice. The smell of the pop is sharp and slightly citrussy but probably not as lemon flavoured as I was expecting, if I am honest.

The taste is delicious. It is light and refreshing and incredibly fizzy. The only downside to this drink is that the fizz doesn't last as long as it does with other bottles of Tesco's own brand fizzy pops. Even when the screw top has been put back on securely after use, it still manages to go flat fairly soon I find.

Overall though, I do really like this drink and as there is only one litre in a bottle anyway, I find that I usually only manage to get two good sized glasses from it before the bottle is finished, so I don't really have too much of a problem on the fizz front as I tend to drink it quite rapidly.

A one litre bottle costs just 99p and the ingredients if you are interested are as follows:

Carbonated Water,Sugar , Lime Juice from Concentrate (0.8%) ,Citric Acid , Preservatives (Dimethyl Dicarbonate, Potassium Sorbate) , Stabiliser (Pectin) ,Natural Flavouring.

I really like this drink. It's something a bit different, light refreshing and very fizzy and moreish.

A great refreshing lime flavoured sparkling drink

When it comes to stayin hydrated as much as I like drinkin water it can get a bit boring and yes I know it is good for you but there is only so much water one can drink! When I go shopping I tend to look for other varieties of soft drinks which can be enjoyed especially when people come over and I don't want to drink or something during the day with a bit of flavour.

Whilst in Tesco recently I noticed in their drinks aisle (round by the tonic water, bitter lemon area) that Tesco do a range of sparkling flavoured drinks. The range of flavours was a bit more unusual that your average tonic water so I decided to try a couple as they were on offer. For this review I will be reviewing the Tesco Spritz Mexican Lime.

      *~* Packaging *~*

Spritz Mexican Lime comes in a 1 litre pale green plastic bottle which is transparent and quite sturdy. It is a similar shape to a tonic water bottle with the slim neck and wider body/base. Around the bottle there is the label featuring images of green limes both whole and cut in half. At the front of the label is the product name and on the back there is the ingredients list, usage and contact information for Tesco.

      *~* The Drink *~*

When I first unscrewed the top you get the fizz you expect from a carbonated drink. As for the scent I was probably expecting a really sharp fresh lime scent which was silly of me as we all know carbonated drinks smell differently than say a fresh lime or orange! The scent of the drink is more of a synthetic lime which isn't sweet or sour but actually quite refreshing which is nice.

Spritz Mexican Lime is clear in colour and transparency and certainly bubbles up very quickly when poured into a glass. It seems that this drink is very carbonated compared to a lemonade or coca cola. It certainly stays incredibly fizzy when poured into the glass and stays like that for quite a lot of hours before going flat.

As for its taste I was still half expecting to taste real limes which the half of me knew I wasn't going to get! The taste of this drink is light and refreshing with more of a sharp citrus flavour than a dominant lime taste which although slightly disappointing it was still a nice flavour which doesn't seem to get overly sweet or sickly the more your drink it just stays quite sharp and refreshing which is great.

      *~* Ingredients *~*

Carbonated Water,Sugar , Lime Juice from Concentrate (0.8%) ,Citric Acid , Preservatives (Dimethyl Dicarbonate, Potassium Sorbate) , Stabiliser (Pectin) ,Natural Flavouring.

      *~* Price and Availability *~*

It is only available at Tesco and costs £0.99p for a 1 litre bottle.

      *~* Overall *~*

Tesco Spritz Mexican Lime certainly makes a welcome change from water or lemonade and although it doesn't really have that sharp, tangy flavour (and aroma) of limes it does have a lovely taste which is refreshing and doesn't get too sweet the more you drink. It is definitely something I would buy again and would recommend.
