Tesco Sun-Sip Orange Squash
Advantages: The price tag and the taste
Disadvantages: Being double concentrated it would be easy to use too much and waste it
Squash is something we buy regularly and with food prices seeming to rise by the week we often go for a discount brand. At the moment we are using Sun Sip Orange Squash from Tesco, costing juts 99p for a 1.5 litre bottle its good value for money and as its doubled concentrated you are actually getting 3 litres for your money. We always buy this sized bottle and I'm not even sure if Tesco do any other sizes in this but its the only one our local Tesco ever has in stock.
The plastic bottle is standard for this type product, it has a simple silver coloured screw top lid and a plastic label wrapped around a square shaped bottle. The front of the label has Sun sip written in small green letters and beneath this it informs the customer that this is double strength orange squash with no added sugar. The whole label is mainly orange and silver in colour and has a picture of oranges on the front.
The sides of the label give all the nutritional information and the ingredients, it also gives advice on making the most from the squash which is to use 1 part squash to 9 parts water. An average 250ml serving made up with water contains just 4 calories so its also ideal if you are watching your weight. If you use the correct amount of squash this bottle should provide you with 60 servings but it would be very easy to over pour this and waste it.
The smell and appearance of this drink is pretty much the same as any orange squash, it has a nice sweet orange aroma to it which smells very god considering the price. As I mentioned the squash is double concentrated so very little is needed in the glass, its easy to pour too much in and waste it.
Once made up the squash is sweet fruity and very refreshing. It has a lovely orange flavour and leaves no nasty after taste in your mouth. Its ideal to have as just a refreshing drink on its own or to accompany a meal or snack. I personally like hot squash and this orange is lovely made up with hot water too, of course this is down to personal taste, my husband thinks its disgusting to drink hot squash but I like it.
I would certainly recommend the Sun Sip orange squash, considering the price its really nice. It makes a nice refreshing drink for anytime. The only problem with
it being double concentrated is that you could easily pour out too much and waste it but apart from this its perfectly good orange squash. Sun sip also do an apple and blackcurrant squash which is also very good as well. If you are looking for a sugar free squash that wont break the bank then I would recommend giving this a try.
Summary: A nice orange drink for a small amount of money
