“ Fruit Juice. „
We all love Tesco's Tropical Juice in our house and we buy a large carton of it about every other week. In our Tesco Extra they sell the large two litre cartons, which are only £1.39 so this is a great bargain as it's delicious tasting stuff. Ours comes in a large carton with integrated carrying handle at the side (as it's quite heavy) and a screw off lid. The ingredients, if anyone is interested are as follows:
Water, Fruit Juices from Concentrate (32%) (Orange, Pineapple, Lemon, Apricot, Mandarin, Papaya, Mango, Passion Fruit, Guava, Banana, Lulo, Kiwi), Glucose-Fructose Syrup, Sugar, Citric Acid, Colour (Beta Carotene), Vitamin C, Natural Flavouring
This can be bought in smaller sized bottles, but as we all go through so much of this in our house, it is actually far more cost effective to buy the larger bottles, wherever possible. We all love this drink as it contains not one but twelve different types of fruit in one carton. The mixture and combination of all of these great fruit flavours gives this drink it's delicious and totally unique flavour. It's incredibly thirst quenching and ideal to drink in a tall glass with lots of ice on a hot summer's day. This is also a great drink to have the morning after the night before as it's packed with vitamin C and I really feel like it hydrates me after I have been out on the town.
It is a concentrated fruit juice drink but having said that it isn't too sweet or artificial tasting at all and it is suitable for vegetarians. It is certainly very fruity and I can detect not only orange but also guava and mango and passion fruit. The whole combination makes for a fantastic tasting drink.
It's bright orange in colour and we always make sure we give the carton a slight shake (or tip it upside down) before we pour the juice out, otherwise we find it can taste a little 'watery' as the contents are prone to settling near the bottom of the carton otherwise.
It is a great juice drink and suitable for all the family and there is really nothing negative I can say about this product. Highly recommended.
Just something I picked up on a recent trip to tescos.
The bottle is the same design as a standard two pint of milk bottle, the handle means its easy to carry about but can take up a lot of room in the fridge. The bottle just then has a sticker on it displaying the label and ingredients etc. The bottle itself is boring but the colour of the liquid inside makes you want to pick it up.
The juice is mainly water, only 32% of the drink is made up of juices, Orange, Pinapple, Lemon, Apricot, Mandarin, Passion Fruit, Guava, Banana, Lulo and kiwi juices from concentrate, the vitamin c is added in separately 125% RDA along with a hell of a lot of sugar, sadly this doesn't make it the healthiest drink out there and one glass contains 33% of your sugar RDA, and fruit juice and sugar are not good for your teeth, so it is something to be drunk in moderation!
When its cold its very refreshing, the taste reminds me of Sunny D but you can only seem to taste the orange and pineapple, without the label I would assume it was just orange and pineapple! but the taste does make it have a good 5/5 because it is simply nice and refreshing juice but it is very sweet!
This is such a nice drink, on its own and mixed into a punch or with any spirit mixers, but the sugar content and sweet taste means its only something to be drunk in moderation!
Last year when I was at university and sharing a flat with three other people, there was one beverage that we all could consume in seconds once it appeared in the fridge...
Tesco's Tropical Juice is a very sweet and refreshing drink - we decided to buy it as it is relatively cheap in comparison to other well-known brands like Tropicana and the Innocent smoothies range. At the time Tesco's would sell 1 litre for a pound, so very good value for money.
Apart from it being sweet, the drink itself is quite watered down, and not as thick or pulpy as some tropical juices can taste like. The colour is not too bright either, I am put off by the likes of Fanta and Orangina but this is has a vibrant, healthy colour and doesn't look like its omitting radiation. Some people maybe put off by such sweet drinks, often being reminded of the infamous Sunny Delight range which is well-known for its E-numbers and sweeteners. This drink is the same, but it still tastes and feels like a much healthier drink than other juices on offer.
Despite the sugary sweet ingredients, I would still recommend this as a suitable juice, its a very cheap alternative to brands like Tropicana/Innocent and yet tastes great. I just wish they made the drink in bigger cartons so it would last longer in my fridge!
My favorite drink to pick up at Tesco is this now because of the taste. The bottle is priced over a pound slightly and is an 2 litre bottle. The drink contains plenty of healthy fruit juice and has got an splendid wonderful taste about it. The package of the bottle is an typical one and an small drop can easily lead to the bottle opening from its top.
I had this drink last month and really liked it a lot. Its not sweet but its got the taste of fruits mixed together. This taste is really good and i prefer this drink now rather than Orange juice thats how good it is.
The drink easily runs out though they have not put much in there to be honest. Most of the times just like the picture when you look at it about 5 percent or ten percent of the drink will be missing and ive seen more than that! Sometimes even 15 percent you will notice this when you see the drink on sale.
I think this drink is ideal for any one who likes sweet drinks even though its not sweet. The reason i say that is because the taste of the drink is an good one.
The drink is something different but only contains 32 percent of fruit juices so its not too healthy to have compared to Pure Orange Juice. The fruits which are mixed in the drink include Mango,Bananas,Kiwis and papayas. The only strange thing is you can hardly tell a banana is in the drink at all.This drink really does taste good in my opinion when its cold the most. Somebody who likes to eat fruits a lot should try this out because this is something you will probably like to drink to.
Traditionally sold in a milk container, Tesco have recently started doing this in a carton, and persuaded by a 3 for 2 deal, we picked up this and a couple of other flavours. Usually the drink costs £1.29, obviously the deal brought it in line with the cheaper options available on the shelves.
In terms of content, the majority of the juice is water, with syrup concentrate helping with the flavours. The bulk of this is orange, with only hints of the others, including apple, pineapple, passion fruit, apricot, mandarin, lime and mango. They do however have a bit of guava puree and banana puree. Curiously there's also some 'natural flavouring' in there, although with all of those flavours already in there, you wonder what the point in this is. 10% of this drink is sugar, so it's not going to be the best for your teeth - just be careful with this, although it's not too dissimilar to other juices in all honesty, unless you're willing to pay more for juices with 'real' fruit in them and therefore natural sugars contained in the fruit itself.
Standard carton with that lever type opening at the top that does snap shut. Luckily, it's a sturdy enough carton which means that depressing the cover isn't a nightmare with a collapsing carton top. It keeps it fresh enough, although I'd still store it upright and not risk the seal by laying it down. Definitely something you should refrigerate after opening, in fact we refrigerate it immediately when we get home, as the taste is much better once chilled.
Taste wise there's no real surprise. There certainly is a tropical taste to it, and you get hints of some of the various fruits. Quite curiously, despite its majority inclusion, orange isn't one of the more noticeable flavours in there, although the banana really comes through on the aftertaste. Initially, it's quite nice and refreshing, but after a few sips and having finished the first glass, it does get rather sickly, and this is something I was disappointed in. I was hoping for something more refreshing throughout the drink, and not something that would be over sweet after merely one glass. Perhaps that sugar inclusion needs to be toned down a bit, or putting more real fruit or pureed fruit in there instead of adding it from concentrate. Doing this would certainly make it less sweet and more drinkable. In fact, I'd probably glug it a lot more and get through it quicker, thus buying more!
There are others in the similar range, although I have to say they're quite sweet as well. Perhaps it's the heavy banana aftertaste combined with the sweet taste in this one, but either way, it's not a product I'm likely to rush to get again. We only really got it as we wanted to try something different and it was on offer. The downside is that we didn't like it, whereas the upside is that it was just an experiment and didn't actually cost us as much as it normally would.
So, not a product I'd recommend then. Far too sickly, and with strange flavour combos as if they've overdone it on how many different fruit flavours there are in it. Ultimately, there are so many different types of juice from so many different companies that I'm bound to find some I'm not keen on. I just happened to draw the short straw with this one.
This has been a firm favourite in my house for a very long time. I actually have some in a glass next to me as I am writing this - surprise surprise!
My mum thought it would be a nice change from the usual squash, especially at the price, so we got 2 bottles & have never looked back.
This tropical juice is made with fruit juices from concentrate mixed with water. It is quite strong and not too watered down which I like. The fruits inside are: orange, lemon, kiwi, banana, guava, mango, passion fruit, papaya, mandarin, orange and apricot. Surprisingly a lot of fruits meaning a lot of vitamins and goodness!
Although there are a few colours and sugars in the drink - it is full of vitamin C. (75% of your daily recommendation of vitamin c in 100ml of juice!)
I would advise keeping this drink in the fridge & it is supposed to be drunk within five days of being opened. It usually only lasts 2/3 days in my house hold though!
The bottle can only be purchased in 2 litre and costs £1.20 in Tesco. As it is own brand you will not find it anywhere else. Although, Sainsbury's and other supermarkets have their own version of the drink which is not as nice in my opinion.
As you can see from the image (which has changed slightly now), the juice comes in a clear carton with a handle. It is pretty much the same as a 4pint milk carton but a little fatter. All the information you need is shown on the sides of the label around the bottle and there are images of fruit on the front. Obviously these are the fruits which make up the drink itself.
I would recommend picking up one of these on your next shopping trip as the juice is well worth it! It wakes you up with a gorgeous tropical kick in the morning and refreshes you throughout the day.
If I ever forget to take my own lunch to work then I often pop to Tesco for one of there £2 sandwich meal deals. On my last visit I realised that of the drinks you can have it now included a small bottle of there Tropical Juice drink which I thought sounded like a pleasant change from the usual Orange or Apple Juice.
A 330ml bottle is priced at £0.60 or you can buy the juice in large 2 litre bottle for £1.29 in the larger stores or on the Tesco website.
The picture above is of the 2 litre bottle, although the one I purchased is exactly the same juice in a 330ml clear plastic bottle with bright yellow screw cap and a plastic wrap around label. On the front of the label is a background picture of different tropical fruits with the name and Tesco logo on a pink panel. There is also basic nutritional information. On the back you can find more detailed nutritional information, ingredients listing, allergy advice and storage information. It also states that the juice is suitable for vegetarians.
Each 330ml bottle of the Tropical Juice Drink contains:
Energy - 165 (kcal)
Sugar - 39.3g
Fat - Trace
Salt - Trace
Water, Fruit Juices from Concentrate (32%) (Orange, Pineapple, Lemon, Apricot, Mandarin, Papaya, Mango, Passion Fruit, Guava, Banana, Lulo, Kiwi), Glucose-Fructose Syrup, Sugar, Citric Acid, Colour (Beta Carotene), Vitamin C, Natural Flavouring.
~~~~~Appearance / Taste~~~~~
This juice is quite a bright orange colour and does appear to look quite watery. The juice itself is rather tasty and refreshing but it is clear that it is made from concentrate rather than freshly squeezed fruit as it is not as an intense flavour. Although there is 12 different fruit juice concentrates contained in the drink the main flavours that can be distinguished are Orange, Mango and Passion Fruit. This juice is also a little on the sweet side so if you do not like very sweet things then this is probably not a drink for you.
I think this juice is good value if you buy it as part of the lunch time meal deal from Tesco or as a larger carton. But to me this is a slightly better version of a squash than a juice as it is just watered down to much. In my opinion this would be a much nicer drink if they increased the amount of fruit concentrate from 39% to give it a more intense fruity flavour, and added less sugar to allow the natural fruit flavours to come through a little more.
On a recent shopping trip to Tesco I decided to purchase their tropical juice drink as a change from the usual orange juice or cordial for my son and I.
The tropical juice comes in a clear carton which has a small handle at the front to make it easier to hold. I find it very easy to hold using the handle but I do only have small hands and so those with large hands may find they cannot fit their fingers through the small handle! The juice has a label on the front which shows pictures of different fruits which can be found in the drink. It also gives us all the information we need to know about the drink.
The juice is made using water and fruit juices from concentrate and I was quite surprised to see just how many fruits are supposed to be represented in this drink. There are orange, pineapple, lemon, apricot, mandarin, papaya, mango, passion fruit, guava, banana, lulo and kiww fruit. I don't even know what lulo is! There are also a few sugars, colours and vitamin C included in this drink.
When I take off the lid and pour a glass of juice I can immediately smell the fruitiness of it and it really is very appealing. The orange coloured liquid tastes equally lovely and it is very refreshing indeed. It reminds me of a drink from my childhood-Um Bongo! Does anyone else remember that?!
My son and I particularly enjoy a glass of this juice with our breakfast and I do think is serves perfectly as a breakfast juice with its refreshing fruity taste.
This juice should be kept in the fridge and once opened should be used within five days. The use by date is on the bottle lid and should be adhered to though I am sure once opened there will be no chance people will leave it to go off date as it is so lovely.
A 2 litre bottle of this tropical juice can be purchased for around £1.20 and as it is a tesco product it can only be purchased from their stores. I would think all of the large supermarkets would have their own version of this drink though. I do think it is a lovely refreshing drink and it is a bonus to know that my son is getting 75% of his recommended daily allowance of vitamin C per 100ml of this drink. I will certainly buy this drink again despite the fact that it is quite sugary as I feel a glass a day for a few days every few weeks is perfectly acceptable.
Per 250ml glass:
Thank you for reading my review
Tesco Tropical Juice Drink
What is it?
A fruit juice drink by Tesco.
A juice drink made from a blend of fruit juices from concentrate - includes orange, pineapple, lemon, apricot, mandarin, papaya, mango, passion fruit, guava, banana and kiwi.
What do I think?
Looking at the ingredients I didn't expect the juice to contain so many different fruits. The juice tastes very light, very similar to the bottles of flavoured spring waters that we are getting now on the market, so I was very surprised to see so many different fruit on the list. It does make me wonder how much of each of the fruit is actually in the bottle as the taste is fairly diluted and light, probably just a drop of each then!
From the taste I can definitely sense the pineapple and lemon, these are in the top five to be first listed, so I take that the earlier it is listed the more in proportion of it there is in the juice drink. The juice is not very sweet either which makes a change, when cool, it does give a calm refreshing feel...
The colour of the juice is a kind of dark orange, like Fanta squash, I think I prefer this colour to the 'yellow' that we get from orange juices. There are no 'bits' I this drink, and very rightly it shouldn't, I don't think it would taste as nice if it had the fruity bits in. I hadn't been able to put this in the fridge once, I had to carry it in my rucksack for several hours, however, after putting it back in the fridge, it tasted fine...
This is only 49p for a 330ml bottle from Tesco's, although it's a fruit juice from 'concentrate' it tastes just as refreshing as if it were fresh and at that price it is very good value for money in terms of taste, quantity and quality.
Thanks for reading.
My mum will pack our fridge full of Tesco tropical juice bottles due to them having such a great taste at such a great price.
You can either buy the tropical juice in the form of a 2 litre bottle which costs just £1.06 which is truly value for your money. If you dont want something as big then you can buy a 250ml bottle which is 56p. You get better for your money if you buy the 2 litre bottle but the 250ml bottle is handy if you are on the go or on your lunch break.
How ever nice you think it tastes try not to drink the whole bottle which is easily done as there is a high sugar content. There is 29.8g of sugar for every 250ml which is about 33% of your recommended daily allowance so try to drink just one glass a day.
The taste is very sweet and you can taste all the different fruits which are in it making your taste buds have their own party. Once you take your first sip you want another and another until your glass is empty. This is best served cold, ive left a glass on the side before went back to drink it and it had only warmed up a little bit but it was a completely different taste.
In conclusion this really is the best juice you can buy for your money and for taste. If you have not tried this yet then you really are missing out. Get a bottle next time you are in Tescos.
I rarely go to the shops with my good lady wife, both of us prefer it that way, she goes shopping on a Saturday to Tesco and I sit at home and have a bet on the football, everybody`s happy.
On the odd occasion that I do tag along with her I am always on the lookout for something different and recently that thing was a 2 litre carton of tropical juice, I do not drink an awful lot of juice but I prefer a fruit juice like this to a fizzy juice when I am having one.
The carton looks like a milk carton but as it is see through you can clearly see the deep orange colour of the juice, even before it is poured it looks very refreshing and nice and that is exactly how it tastes too.
It has a nice tang to it without being too strong, I dislike juices that draw your cheeks together or catches the back of your throat and there is no need to worry about that here as this juice is just tangy enough to be different from other fruit juices.
It contains such fruit juices as, orange, pineapple, lemon and apricot but it gets its name "Tropical" from the more exotic fruits that can be found in it such as passion fruit, kiwi and papaya.
You can really taste the exotic fruits in this unlike some cheaper versions that almost always just taste pretty much like orange, I found the pineapple and passion fruit were especially easy to pick out and it is almost as if you find a new flavour with every glass you pour and at only 99p for a 2 litre carton it is very good value for money too.
I recommend this very cold straight from the fridge and even better when poured over ice, it is a very delicious fruity drink and I cannot wait for the summer now so that I can enjoy a glass or two of it out in the garden under the bright red hot Scottish sun!
I do like having a Fruit Juice in the morning. It makes me feel like I am being healthy, and although some Fruit Juices aren't that good for you. it just feels better than a glass of Fizzy Juice.
This is found in the chiller section of Tesco. It is in a 2 litre bottle and costs £1.06. Although you should use this within 4 days of opening, the use by date is a good 10 days after I bought it.
The packaging is alright. This is in a bottle which looks like a Milk Carton. It is a a sturdy plastic bottle with a handle on it, so quite easy to use. There is the label on the front which has a picture of the Fruit and the Nutritional Information is on the side.
The juice is a nice range colour and to look at it it looks tangy and very juice-y. It isn't thick juice, only the standard consistency.
So what Fruits are in this Juice? Quite a lot, which I was surprised at. There is Orange, Pineapple, Mango, Papaya, Apricot, Lemon, Mandarin, Banana, Guava, Passionfruit, Kiwi and something called Lulo.
There is a fair amount of Sugar in this juice as well. Per 250ml this has 125 calories. I find it easy to drink quite a lot of this, as it is just so tasty and really takes your thirst away.
It is quite a cheap Juice compared to other ones out there in the Chillers, but I think it is a good one. With all the different flavours in this it certainly isn't boring, and I will be buying this again.
Tesco tropical juice drink is the best tropical drink i have ever drank. It is a very refreshing drink and the taste is sure to get your taste buds tingling. Tesco has certainly got this recipe perfect. After trying other tropical drink I found some taste sour or too strong which means I cant drink too much but with Tesco tropical drink I find myself drinking the whole bottle to myself.
Bewarned though because drinking the whole bottle in one day like I do is not good for you. For every 250ml contains 29.8g of sugar which is 33% of your recommened daily allowance so drinking the whole bottle in one day means you would have had 264% of your recommended daily allowance.
Tesco do the drink in two sizes. A 2 litre bottle or a smaller bottle which is 250ml. The price of a 2 litre bottle is currenlty £1.06 and the price of the small bottle is 56p so to get more for your money you are better of buying the bigger bottle but if you want something that you can drink of the go and easy to carry around with you while you get a quick snack then the smaller bottle would be more suitable.
In conclusion, if you want a cold refreshing drink then this is the drink for you. If you like to drink tropical drinks but have never tried this brand then trust me you wont be dissapointed. You probally wont want to drink any other brand except for this one.
We get through loads of this tropical drink from Tesco because it's only £1.03 for 2 litres and is loads cheaper than buying enough fruit juice for us all to drink through the day.
It comes in a bottle like milk but the label is different to the picture Dooyoo have got and looks more grown up and is a purple colour.
Its only got 32% fruit in it so I make sure I also drink a proper fruit juice everyday because even though it tastes proper fruity there isn't really a lot in it.
The flavour of the juice comes from orange, pineapple, lemon, apricot, mandarin, passion fruit, papaya, mango, guava, banana, kiwi. The fruits are all blended good and it gives a typical tropical flavour that is sweet and refreshing but not overpowering. The fruit I can taste the most is the orange and mango and I can't pick out any of the others on there own but it's a delish drink with a wicked fruity flavour that tastes so good.
I like having mine with ice cubes because it makes it even more cooling and refreshing. It's a thin juice that is very easy to drink and goes lovely in a smoothie with chopped up strawberries, plums and half a banan like I had for my breakfast this morning.
A 200ml glass of this yummy juice has got 125 calories in it and no fat so it's a healthy drink and even more so when you use it in a smoothie because that boosts the fruit content more.
I like this tropical drink because it is good for your health.It is made from different fruit juice blended in together and when you drink it you can actually taste and smell the fruitiness of the drink which is quite refreshing.It is not too sweet so becase of this i think it is good for young chilren ,even grown up as well.The quality of this drink is good and very high .Also because it is made out of fruit juice it is good for your health.It tastes better when you drink it cold.The only downside to this drink is that it does not have a long shelve life and for a mother like me that is not very good you do not want to go to the shop on a regular basis just for drink,but apart from that it is a good quality drink that is perfect for all no matter who you are.Keep it up.
