Advantages: None

Disadvantages: Cheap, Watery

Tesco Value Pure Breakfast Juice seems like a bit of a bargain at 58p for a one litre carton. But I don't actually think it's worth even 58p.

This stuff tastes very bitter to me. It's a really thin juice that doesn't have the depth to it that I expect from a fresh fruit juice, even one that I know has been watered down quite a bit. This doesn't have a very strong scent either, which is another indicater that there isn't as much fruit in it as I'd like.

I especially don't like that this leaves a bitter after taste in my mouth, and I don't even find it that thirst quenching because I dislike the taste so much. I'd much rather have a glass of real fresh orange juice with my breakfast, and am happy to pay a few pence more to have it.

I checked the carton and found that there is 75% orange juice from concentrate in this juice, and 25% grapefruit from concentrate. Hmm, great, but how much is the fruit juice and how much is the water they've diluted it? Tastes like a fair bit of water has gone into this to me.

Also, if you think you're getting a real bargain here, and assume that this is really cheap because it's a value product, think again. Tesco own brand orange juice is almost the same price. It costs £2.99 for a four pack of 1lt cartons of their Smooth Orange Juice, which is 75p a carton. And if you take advantage of their long running offer of 2 x 4 packs for £5, that works out at 62p per carton - just 4p per carton more than this awful, cheap stuff.

I don't recommend this to anyone and I can't believe how many people have given it five stars! I think it's cheap, watery and not worth more than 40p a carton.

Blimey Joy, I might easily give it a few more stars for that price! Must not be very popular across the board then I guess.

My local Tesco were selling pallet loads of this off for 12p a carton recently - I bought plenty as for this price you cannot moan at all!
