Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: Too sweet, not pleasant aftertaste
Having adjusted quite well to Tesco Cola I decided to try this as it costs a mere 0.17 for a 2litre bottle and my hubby is a cola addict!
Coming in a clear plastic bottle it has a white label round it with the traditional Tesco Value logo and the words sugar free cola - so very basic to look at.
There is nothing nutritional to the drink which is low in sugar as it contains the sweeteneer Aspartame. The listed ingredients are mainly carbonated water, sugar, a variety of acids and some caffeine.
What is it like?
The colour is not quite as rich as Coca cola but it is close, after I had poured it I was pleased to see it fizz rather than being a little flat as I would have expected for the price. However the smell is very sweet and when I drank some I could detect a cola flavour but it was far too well hidden, under the overpowering sweet sickly taste which was actually a little too carbonated!
I would imagine if you take certain spirits such as vodka with coke this may well be an adequate substitution. I do not feel, however, that this comes even close to Tesco cola or Coca Cola and the sweetener they use is very overpowering and leaves you with a rather unpleasant after taste.
Summary: Sometimes value is no value at all
