Advantages: its cheap???
Disadvantages: Goes flat quickly, tastes weak
I think some of the value range in tesco is great - I'm not a great food label snob and even if it has the blue stripy label but tastes good I will buy it.
However this is one product I won't be buying from the range. I thought I would put it in my shopping basket to give it a try because at less than 20p a bottle compared to my usual cola at almost a pound a bottle and own brand at 70p a bottle it seemed worth a try.
As soon as opened the bottle I was disappointed the smell wasn't really very great - just seemed to be very overpowering in its sweetness and that didn't end at the smell. I poured a glass out and that seemed fine - fizzy enough but when I tasted it it was very sweet and very watery - if that makes sense.
I often pour out drinks and then get distracted - either writing a review or doing the washing and so come back to the drink a while later. I won't be doing that with this drink. when I came back to it it was really flat and I really hate flat fizzy drinks.
It didn't stay fizzy in the bottle very long either and by the next day was pretty flat. This coke may have been cheap but it certainly wasn't value for money even at this price. One value product I won't be buying again.
Summary: Not a good value product

- 24/03/09 Tesco's normal branded coke at 64p (I think) is far nicer than this rubbish. |
