Advantages: The same great taste as before, only concentrated.

I've been a big fan of lemon squash for a number of years now and have tried several different brands but have ultimately found that the cheap and cheerful brands from the big supermarkets are actually pretty damned good.

Until recently Tesco sold their Lemon squash in small one litre bottles for around sixteen pence a bottle, recently they have added fifty percent to the volume and roughly tripled the price, but the most important change is that it is now double concentrated. This means that the price change is actually only in keeping with how many glasses of juice you get.

The double concentrated idea is something that started nearly a year ago with their own brand drinks (not the Tesco Value, their slightly 'better' branded ones) as a means to save on packaging, and presumably in turn delivery and shipping costs.

Daft as it sounds this does affect the flavour slightly as it can be quite hard to remember that you're pouring in something that you only need half the amount of. This said when you do actually remember it's brilliant and tastes just the same as the older ones. Being more specific about the taste I think the easiest way of explaining it is that this particular cordial tastes unbelievably like proper cloudy lemonade gone flat, a brilliant taste in itself, mixed with Tesco Value lemonade it creates the taste perfectly.

A bargain drink in an even better bottle than before.

Summary: It's the same as the old stuff, but now it only takes half the shelf space that it did before.
