Advantages: Tastes really good and old fashioned, great balance of flavours and cheap as chips!

Disadvantages: Still not as nice as my favourite coke.

Though not a massive squash drinker when money is a bit tight and we're trying to save as many pennies as we can my mum will usually pop a bottle into the shopping trolley with instructions that as the chief pop consumer in the house I should really cut back on my coke habit as it's costing us a fortune; alas my mother is right and on these occasions I really have no choice but to either drink the squash or glug back tap water - I generally opt for the former as water round these parts isn't the tastiest and I'll admit that I'm generally too lazy to go through the whole brita filtering process malarky.

Anywho, on to the topic of this review; today I will be giving you my humble opinion of Tesco's own value lemon squash. As a bit of a brand snob I really wasn't expecting a lot from this, especially as various other value beverages have failed miserably when it comes to tasting anywhere near pleasant; this however tastes lovely, very similar to cloudy lemonade as the sweetness is balanced with a bitter tang. The flavour is natural and being squash you can have your drink however strong you like, I generally slop quite a bit into the bottom of a glass before topping up with water as I prefer my drinks to have a punchy flavour.

The squash itself is a sort of pale, yellowy white colour; not the most appealing looking beverage but nevertheless it has a fresh lemon flavour that doesn't taste artificial and also has a nice hint of bitterness with sweet undertones, topped up with ice cubes it is very refreshing and does remind me of old fashioned lemonade. Lovely to drink out in the garden during nice weather, well whenever we get any! For just 29p you get a generous 750ml bottle and as the squash is supposed to be double concentrated you may find depending on your own taste that you don't have to use much at all and it'll last your a fair amount of time. Suitable for vegetarians too.

Overall I would say that it's a very well flavoured squash for the price, especially when I was expecting it to taste as if it was chock full of nasty e numbers and artificial this and thats; natural tasting and just the right balance of bitter and sweet. I like it but still won't be swapping it for my favourite coke, well not if I have the choice anyway! ;)
