Advantages: taste
Disadvantages: too much sugar
AT 58p for a litre carton, this is well priced orange juice. I have long been a fan of pure orange juice, and find a pint of chilled to be an excellent start to a morning. You can pay all sorts of prices for this stuff, and since oranges are oranges, surely there isn't much difference is there?
The packaging is basic, but we've come to expect that from the value range, and it doesn't really matter does it? The main thing is the taste.
Taste-wise, this is really nice. It's nice and sweet, but with a slightly sour aftertaste. It has a lot of bite to it, and doesn't taste watered down at all, which I find with some brands. It is very smooth too, which is good as I can't stand the stuff with bits in it.
The only annoying thing is the nutritional info:
per 100ml
Cal 42kCal
Fat Trace
Sat Fat 0.0g
Sugar 9.4g
Salt Trace
That's 10g of sugar for every 100ml of juice, which makes this way too unhealthy to be something you can just gulp down. Sadly, my days of drinking a pint of this in the morning have gone since I discovered this, and I can't quite believe a drink that seems so healthy is so bad for you. Add to that the fact that it rots away at your teeth, and you're left with a drink that seems like it should be good for you, but is quite the opposite!
All in all, this is a well priced drink but I can't recommend giving anyone (particularly children) that influx of sugar.
Summary: no!
