Advantages: Cheap

Disadvantages: Does not taste great

I don't usually go for products that are concentrate based, this is because I really prefer having the products made from real fruit.

I decided to try the Tesco Value Orange Squash Double Concentrate, because it was one of those times that I considered keeping a few bottles of different juices in the fridge, because they are great for hot summer days. I actually had a hard time deciding to use the product, because I assume that the more premium brands or ranges would taste better and be more healthy.

The packaging did not really help to convince me, particularly because it had the tesco Value label just stuck there which makes me doubt the product and the simple blue and red colour scheme really made the product seem like a plain and boring choice.

Once I opened the bottle, there was a slightly odd scent that came out. This was quite bad because it led me to believe that this product might not even be decent enough to drink. The taste itself is quite disappointing, because you don't get that orange taste which it really should have.

Furthermore, it just does not taste right as a whole, because of the variety of reasons.

At first glance, the colour of the juice itself looks a bit weird and unusual.
It would get worst if you drink orange juices regularly because you can really tell the difference in the taste and you might not be impressed by this product.

Upon looking closely at the ingredients of the product, you will find a wide variety of ingredients that are far from natural.

In general as an alternative, this product is quite cheap at less than 50 pence for 1 and a half litres of double concentrate orange squash which is good in theory. However, in terms of taste and quality, this product does not live up to the basic expectations.

Summary: Not a substitute for the premium brands
