“ Still lemon and lime flavoured spring water drink with sweeteners. Contains a source of phenylalanine. „
Instead of just drinking tea and coffee I am trying to up my intake of water. Plain water is so boring however so I am trying to experiment with different favours and by adding ingredients to it. I bought this lemon and lime flavoured water the other night in Tesco just to try it out and was pleasantly surprised with how tasty it was.
The water costs 70p for a 1.5 litre bottle so isn't too expensive. It is also much better for my diet than some other flavoured waters which contain hidden sugars and calories as this water is practically calorie free and only contains 1 calorie in a 250ml glass.
I was a little worried that the water was going to be too acidic and bitter but it was actually really nice and refreshing. The lemon and lime flavours are subtle but they are strong enough that I could actually taste them. The water had a lovely subtle tang but it didn't make my mouth pucker or taste sour and it was sort of like drinking a nice cordial.
It also didn't have a really sweet taste to it and I caught no horrible aftertaste of sweetener. I have made up my own water using fresh limes and lemons before and to be honest this is pretty much what this tasted of.
Although this doesn't use fresh lemons and limes in its production it didn't taste artificial and you could serve this to people and they would be hard pressed to be able to tell the difference between this and one that you had made yourself using fresh lemons and limes.
Overall I was pretty impressed with this flavoured water and will most definitely be buying it again in the future.
Price: 70 pence per 1.5 litre
Why Buy: Tastes great, low calories (1 calorie/250ml), cheap product
Price: Lately I have been trying to eat/drink more healthy. I have always been a fan of flavoured water because I can drink it quickly (easily get my water intake) and it taste great, but often I find that it can start to get expensive after a while. I started purchasing the large flavoured Volvic water which were about 1.5 litres for 1.20 or only 98p if they were on offer. Unfortunately I can drink almost 2 bottles of these a day and find it gets quite expensive if the product is not on offer! When on my shopping trip in Tescos, I stumped about this water which at my Tescos is only .70 per 1.5 litre! Although it does not seem like much of a price difference, if you buy quite a few of these it can save you a lot of money over time!
Taste/Nutritional information: I was sceptical about buying this product because I had tried another Tesco flavoured water which was called Summer Fruits. I found that product to be extremely sweet and hard to drink due to added sweeteners. Tesco Lemon and Lime states that it is still spring water with a taste of Lemon & Lime with sweetener. I guess it was lucky for me and future buyers because you cannot taste the added sweetener and it is not overpowering! The ingredients in the product are spring water, citric acid, natural flavouring, and sweetener (Sucralose). It contains 0 sugars, 0 fat, 0 saturates, 0 salts, and only 1 calorie per 250ml! The water is only lightly flavoured so the extra lemon and lime is not overpowering. If you have tried the Volvic Lemon product you will notice that the taste is pretty much equivalent. I think the Tesco product might be a little less lemon flavoured, but I find this perfect for me. Also the product does say that once opened you should consume in 3 days. This should not be a problem, but something to keep in mind if you're just looking for something to keep in the fridge to drink sparingly.
Recommendation: If you are a fan of flavoured water or the Volvic lemon water, you should purchase this item as it is similar in taste and cheaper in price! If you don't drink much flavoured water I still encourage you to try this product! Just by drinking the right amount of water and replacing this product with pop and other calorie filled drinks will make a difference in your diet. Since I have switched water for pop I have found that my weight is easier to maintain with my current diet.
I am a huge fan of flavoured water, I have been drinking volvic flavoured water for a long time now, Recently I discovered this at tesco. I was shocked as it was a large 1.5 litre bottle for only 70 pence! I will now go into more detail on the product and explain why this is definately worth a try!
You get a large 1.5 litre bottle for 70p, the bottle is clear with a line pattern up the side. The plastic film around the middle shows an image of lemon and lime cut in half and looking very juicy! It also tells you that this is still water which is lightly flavoured. I was shocked that you can buy a bottle of this for half the price of volvic touch of fruit water. The bottle is simple and looks just like a typical water bottle!
It has a wonderful taste. It is fruity and fresh! I love this with some ice, It is like drinking squash but a lot healthier as this is just water. It has no calories, sugar, salt, fat...NOTHING! Its perfect for keeping you hyrdrated throughout the day. I got so bored of drinking water all day and now I tend to drink this during the day. Its perfect for kids too as they will think they are drinking something they like, when they are also hydrating themselfs. The taste of citrus is very prominent and after ever mouthful you are left with a lemon like taste which is so nice. Its perfect on a hot day. I have seen this on offer too, so keep your eyes peeled. The water has a slight citrus smell which is also very nice.
This is very cheap compared to its competitors on the market. Its also full of flavour and very refreshing! I can't rate this highly enough. It is also good for you as it is basically water with a small amount of flavouring too it. I would recommend this to anyone and is great for all the family. This gets a 5 star rating from me and I love it! I also believe that this tastes the same as volvic, if not better.
Thanks for reading my review, hope it helped you out a bit :)
Tesco So Clear still lemon & lime flavoured water is my review - sorry, I could not find the correct category, so here we go. I have a bottle of this excellent beverage in front of me, and it won't be there for long, because I drink this stuff whenever I get the chance. I do not agree that bottled water is generally better for you than tap water, really, all things considered, as I live in the Highlands of Scotland, our water is superlative, fresh and very refreshing, from the tap so I never buy still bottled water, UNFLAVOURED THAT IS. I often buy the flavoured stuff, only still, of course, because the fizzy stuff makes me feel awfully bloated and full up, but if the diet is on (and it is currently! when is it not?!) then a great way to fill up your tummy for very little money, avoid the cakes and biscuits and chocolate which abound at stress-time at work, and ease that thirstiness which comes from working in a very stuffy office is to have a bottle of Tesco flavoured water around. Quite apart from the fact that you can get a bottle of flavoured water from Tesco for the princely sum of only 69p, you get such a wonderful variety of flavours that you are never stuck for a change. You can kid yourself that you are having a wonderfully fruity cocktail, sipping it on the beach, with or without the little groovy parasols and ice cubes and slices of lemon which come with said fruity cocktails and you can also imagine the sun is shining (which, believe me, it does not often do in the highlands!!) All this, I hear you say, astounded, for the princely sum of 69p Well blow me down!!!
There is a wonderfully evocative piccy on the side of the "so clear" bottle of lemon & lime flavoured water of a little lemon and a little lime in glorious original colour scheme i.e. the lime is green and the lemon is yellow, all is as it should be, and they are splashing happily in a whoooooosh of incredibly refreshing looking water....well, if that doesn't make you thirsty just looking at it, then Tesco have failed miserably in their mission....I can never buy just one bottle...usually because I have trailed around Tesco for ages and am by now really thirsty, see that picture, and oops, the advertising works!!
It comes in a bottle of 1.5 litre size and says "Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Once opened, keep refrigerated and consume within 3 days."
