Tesco, making water even more boring than usual! (Tesco Value Sparkling Water)

While shopping in Tesco recently I bought a bottle of their Value Sparkling Water, it was only 12p for a 2 litre bottle and I thought it might be a nice change from my usual apple flavoured Perfectly Clear water with my breakfast. Water's water after all, sparkling or otherwise.

Unfortunately I might just as well have taken my 12p and popped it down the nearest drain. Considering you 'can't go wrong with water' Tesco have, this is awful. It's like they have taken a fizzy lemonade and taken every single scrap of flavour out of it, that's all.

The water has got a very strange aftertaste, it's obviously not a mineral aftertaste (not for 12p anyway!) and I cannot put my finger on exactly what it reminds me of but I certainly find it unpleasant. The water is very hollow tasting and there is absolutely no roundness to the flavour at all, of course by it's very nature water is flavourless but this Value rubbish is tasteless and very boring indeed.

At least the level of fizziness is good, it makes it a refreshing drink but doesn't make me feel sick or gassy after drinking a glass - not that I drunk a full glass but you get the general idea. I have tried using the leftover water to make up cordial but the aftertaste just spoils the fruity drink, in the end I poured what was left in the bottle down the sink which was a waste but I just couldn't face this intensely boring water again.

I shan't bother with this water again, I do enjoy a nice glass of fizzy water but would much rather spend a few extra pence and buy a decent one.

Summary: Never again, this is one Value product that won't make it into my trolley again!
