There is a constant nag everywhere about how we should all be increasing our water intake and not being a fan of still water I thought I would give sparkling water a whirl to spice it up.

I was impressed to find that Tesco do their own brand of sparkling water at only 17p for 2 litres. The water comes in a simple lightweight plastic bottle and the labelling couldn't be simpler. There is a thin label wrapped around the centre of the bottle with well known Tesco Value logo in its normal red, blue and white colour scheme. In bold blue writing reads "Sparkling Water".

Now beware when opening this is really fizzy water. They well carbonate this water so on breaking the seal you can hear it start to fizz and if not careful will fizz out of the bottle. If you have successfully opened the bottle you now need to pour it in to a glass without mishap. Easier said than done!! The water is still really fizzy and when pouring creates a large froth at the top so likely to fizzy over the sides of the glass.

I really enjoy the taste and feel of drinking sparkling water and get through a bottle a day but it is an acquired taste. I also drink it with a dash of orange squash which makes it in to a low calorie - poor mans Fanta but is very refreshing.


A great way to get you water intake up, Ok not as cheap as tap water but much cheaper than fizzy drinks.
