Advantages: Useful when I ran out of water, tastes fine, cheap price.

Disadvantages: Not as a cheap as tap water, plastic bottles!

When I was visiting London this week and in need of a drink, I opted to find a Tesco to buy a big 2l bottle of water rather than pay extortionate prices for 500ml bottles from the likes of coffee shops. As I just wanted water, I chose this 2 litre bottle of still water for the minuscule price of 19p from a Tesco Metro store.

--- The Bottle ---
The water comes in a very plain 2 litre clear bottle that is 30cm tall and 8cm in diameter. It has a simple screw cap on that is easy to take off that is dark blue in colour. Around the middle there is a simple red and white label that simply states the product name and Tesco's product guarantee information. As it is just water, nothing else is listed.

--- Water ---
There is not too much to say about bottled water really as it is just water, nothing more, nothing less. The good side this bottle was that it was very cheap and the water was quite cold considering it was a hot day. It was nice and refreshing and helped keep me hydrated in the hot sun.

The good side to buying water in this size bottle is the low price that they sell it for. As it is much more difficult to carry around and drink out of, they sell these for less as they know they won't be bought as much. For about 4 times the price of this, I could of bought a 500ml bottle! Luckily for me, I had an empty 500ml bottle in my bag so I simply poured it into the empty bottle to make it easier to drink.

The water is quite tasteless and there is no discernible bad tastes in it which is good. It tastes just like the tap water from home which made it easily drinkable. It is bottled in the UK so the quality of the water purity should be high.

--- Overall ---
This is an excellent price for a big bottle of water when you are thirsty, however it is still considerably more expensive than filling a reusable bottle up at home before you head out. Normally I don't buy bottled water as it is a rip-off for what it is, however as I had ran out of water and it was very hot, I felt I had to.

If you are in the same situation that I was in then it is worthwhile buying these bigger bottles rather than the 500ml ones and they are even more of a rip off, however if you can sufficiently plan ahead then try and use tap water in a reusable bottle to help stop so many of these bottles ending up in landfill sites. The quality of tap water in the UK is very high and so there should be no real need to buy bottled water.

I am going to give this 3/5 as in the situation was very useful, but it is still in my opinion a rip off and waste of a plastic bottle.

Thanks for reading.

Summary: Tastes fine, but will take more tap water in future.
