Tesco Value Still Water
Advantages: good value
Disadvantages: not the most amazing tasting drinking water
Where I live, the tap water is not very nice at all which is disappointing as coming from Scotland, I was always used to nice water from the taps but in the North West it has a funny aftertaste. I always make sure that I stock up on bottled water and used to spend a lot buying Evian and the other pricier brands but having started buying Tesco Value Still water, I really have to say that I am quite impressed with it. I am not saying it is the best brand that I have ever purchased but it isn't that bad considering the price of it and how much you get so I do tend to buy a couple of these in my food shop.
The packaging for this Tesco Value Still water is very basic as it is of course from their low budget range and so it has the generic look of all of their Value range which is that white label and the red band and then the Tesco logo and a simple bit of type stating what the name of the product is. It is very easy to find this in the drinks aisle though with the packaging standing out as it is so simple compared to the other water brands and it works in a way.
Now, when opening the bottle of this you do get a slight fizz which always confuses me as I think to myself have I picked up the right water type. However, it is probably because it is very well sealed but it is fine when you open it. The bottles come in 2 litre versions only which is good enough as these big bottles are great for stocking up on and I recommend every household to have a few of these in. Now, the water is always best served chilled so I will always have a bottle of this water in the fridge as at room temperature it just doesn't seem to taste as good.
When I pour the water in it is perfectly clear and to taste it I would say it tastes nice for water. It isn't the most purest tasting or best tasting water in the world but I'd say it was like a really good tap water as it doesn't have that awful metal like aftertaste. It is cool and refreshing this water and it tastes really nice and is easy to go down which is always what you want with water. I have had fresher tasting water from pricier brands but it is fine as I take this water to the gym and it always keeps me very healthy and it is really good value for money.
Being water, the nutritional figures for this are just 0 on everything apart from sodium and salt equivalents where it states that there are traces to be found. This water will fill up quite a few glasses being 2 litres and even if you don't find it the best tasting for drinking straight glasses of water then it is handy for mixing with cordials or whatever you need to use water for. I am not really picky with water and although I do love some water brands just for filling up my bottle and taking to work this definitely does the job.
This is a good option for those who go through water very fast and don't have good drinking water from the tap. It is good for stocking up on as for a pound you could easily get a lot and as it is recommend that adult's drink so much water a day then at this price there is no reason why you can't stick to that healthy target and keep yourself well hydrated which is what Tesco are giving us the option to do with this price.
To buy this water you will get it at all Tesco stores whether it be the small stores or the superstores but not always at the garages as they tend to stock higher cost brands. It is only 16p for a 2 litre bottle which as far as I'm concerned is amazing really as you could buy a lot and it will last you a good while.
The official Tesco website http://www.tesco.com has a store locator and you can buy this if you do your shopping online.
