Advantages: Okay if you want a weaker cup of tea, and it's dirt cheap
Disadvantages: Weak, poor taste
I love a good cup of tea first thing in the morning to wake me up. Once I have had one, I can then relax for a bit, or get ready for work, and know that the tea will start working its magic and I'll have my energy levels boosted, and then drink coffee throughout the day to maintain these levels, plus I like the taste.
But it has to start with tea, and for it to work, the tea does need to go some way to waking me up and also tasting half decent. Tesco Value is a decent range, on the whole, and while this product is incredibly cheap, at 30p or so for 80 bags, you need to use about 3 to make one cup of tea taste decent in strength. The teabags themselves are square and floppy, and there doesn't seem to actually be much tea in them, nor does it taste so good.
I find myself eeking as much tea flavour as I can out of this, and as a result you can tell that the leaves have been pushed to their limit, and using two bags for one cup of tea just defeats the object of having a cheaper tea altogether! Safe to say I only bought this product the once!
However, if you like your tea quite weak, which I know that some people do, then this is probably quite a good product for you. Yes, the taste is weak as well, and not the greatest in terms of quality, but for the price, you know that you're getting the weak cup of tea you want. Granted, this isn't necessarily the intention of the product, but it serves this purpose, and for that it can be commended.
Sadly, however, for me, I like my cup of tea to be a decent strength and taste, not wishy washy and weak, and to get this from this product, I have to use two bags and still end up with a tea that doesn't have the greatest taste. There are also problems with the tea bags themselves, as they can sometimes split easily, so if you are intending to buy this product, then do be careful when handling the bags and when taking them out of the tea to discard.
Overall, a disappointing product that I won't be buying again. It's okay if you want a weak cup of tea with lower than average taste, and some people are happy with this, but if you want a 'proper' cup of tea with decent strength and taste, then this probably won't be the product for you. It certainly wasn't for me, in this respect.
Summary: Really cheap tea tasting of really weak and cheap tea...............!!!!
