Advantages: Cheap

Disadvantages: Not strong enough, tea bags itself are quite prone to breaking

Tea, it has always been not only a routine in my daily but a huge part of my life. From the start of the day till the end. On most days, I can't seem to consume coffee first thing in the morning, which has led me to find the other alternative of drinking tea.

In my opinion, tea is such a great drink, it just seems to be perfect for any time of the time, breakfast, lunch, dinner and even supper. Therefore I always a good stock of them, because I hate running out of any food supplies and be forced to travel to the shop to purchase them at a time which would be inconvenient for me.

Being a regular drinker of PG tea and other brands, I felt that I wanted a change in taste occasionally. Therefore whilst stocking up on my regular brands, I noticed the Tesco Value Tea Bags which took me a while to actually consider buying them. In the end, I concluded that it is just tea at the end of the day, and it can't be that different. I even composed a game that involved hiding the tea bags among the premium brands if they did not taste nice.

The packaging was very plain and simple compared to the other brands, with a white background and basic photo of a cup of tea, as usual it had the Tesco Value label which never fails to catch my attention and leds to me be sceptical until I actually use the product.

Upon opening the package, I felt the individual tea bags and they felt thinner than usual. When I tried to make a cup of tea, one of them split which was quite annoying and inconvenient, especially if you are in a hurry in the morning. After the incident, I always had to remind myself not to handle the tea bags too roughly.

The taste of the tea itself was decent, however the strength of the tea was less impressive. It was definitely not as strong as I wanted it to be, therefore in order to compensate for this, I had to use more teabags to get a stronger taste. However, this did not really make it economical because by choosing a cheaper alternative of tea bags instead of an expensive brand, you just end up using more of the cheap tea bags.

Overall for the price of less than 31 pence for 80 tea bags, they are probably not the best for seasoned tea drinkers which have developed a liking for strong tea.

Summary: Not really a good choice of tea, unless you enjoy using ridicolous amounts of tea bags to make 1 cup
