Newest Review: ... (not of Vodka anyway!) so cannot really comment on this aspect. I tend to use Value Vodka to make cocktails or drink it with Diet Coke ... more

Advantages: Cheap as chips, but not as nice

Disadvantages: The taste- a pretty big disadvantage!

In these difficult financial times we're all looking for ways to cut back and generic supermarket products are a great way to go about it. However, like my mother said, sometimes when you buy cheap you buy twice. But I won't be buying value vodka again.

The packaging is the standard blue and white stripes, but as I was mixing the vodka with tonic and lemon I wasn't that concerned. I poured the drink and everything seemed fine, there was a nice crackle when the vodka hit the ice so I had a sip.

One word- OUCH.

This stuff burns like paint stripper. I drink vokda martinis which are pure alcohol, without blinking but this made my eyes water. I tried it again later in the week with full fat coke and the taste was better but still not great.

Overall, I would rather spend £25 on a bottle of Absolut and make it last three months then buy this product and drink it in two weeks. The only thing I am using Tesco vodka for now is to spot clean silk ties- honest, it works!

Summary: Sorry, can't recommend this at all!
