Advantages: Cheap, good if you want to get drunk

Disadvantages: tastes disgusting, cannot appreciate/enjoy it, presentation & packaging is not at all appealing

Tesco Value Vodka is one of the drinks in the range of bog standard supermarket Tesco spirits.

I must say that the overall majority of products in the tesco value range are very pleasing and often rival premium brands which is really impressive, however i was fairly let down after purchasing tesco value vodka thinking that it would be as good as other value products.

Lets start off with the taste - If you are doing single shots of it, then its mildly bareable although the after taste which is fowl seems to linger in the back of your throat for eternity, If you are drinking/downing more than a few shots then it physically makes you feel sick and is extremely unappealing.
At first i thought i may just be being extremely critical, but nevertheless my friends also gave similar opinions about it and were very reluctant to consume it again.

The effects of it do make up for the taste, and if getting drunk is your goal then this certainly does the trick fairly quickly, this particular vodka is 37.5% in volume.

Despite my dislike for the vulgar taste of the vodka, the price again does make you overlook the flaws in the product as a 70cl bottle is only £6.98 which works out at 99.7p per 100ml (around 25p per single measure shot), so if you are short of cash or just want to spend less then this is the vodka for you.

There is yet another downfall to this product which leaves a lot to be desired, it is the overall presentation & packaging which is about appealing as the taste, it is basically the same sort of design as all tesco value products (white + a red strip, with all the ingredients & information very visible) this means that the product looks very cheap and tacky, and is certainly not the product to impress people with.

I personally do really enjoy straight vodka, and i thought that this was a great deal at first, but i doubt i will be buying another bottle any time soon, if you have £8-£20 to spend then i would certainly reccomend you look at some premium high quality brands, as they are well worth the money and will allow you to actually enjoy the drink.

One of other reasons i do not like this product is, due to the taste it is really only a product to get drunk with, and not something to have a shot now and again and appreciate the drink.

So overall this is a poor product and does not live up to the expectations created by over tesco value products, i am extremely reluctant to try other spirits or any alcoholic beverage in the tesco value range, due to my negative experiences with this vodka.

Summary: Overall i would not reccomend this product (3/10)
