Tesco Cloudy Lemonade
by thriftygiftyisme
=Tesco Cloudy Lemonade (diet) 2 Litre bottle=
I like fizzy drinks and my daughter does, but I limit it to 1 bottle at a weekend as a treat, and on one of our visits to Tesco we choose this cloudy lemonade, my daughter was surprised to see this as she was just use to the clear lemonade.
=Availability=
This is a ... Tesco own brand product and can be brought in store as well as online. A 2 litre bottle is 65p.
=Bottle=
The drink comes on a 2 litre plastic bottle which is clear plastic.
=Taste=
The drink has a nice taste of lemons and is a strong taste, it has been with real lemons and no artificial flavours, for an cheaper bottle is a good selling point.
=Once Opened=
When you open the bottle, you get a hit of the fizz and a smell of lemons. Once poured into a glass there is a good array of bubbles, not overpowering that it feels like their going up your nose, but enough to know you have a fizzy drink. The drink is a pale yellow colour, with an element of a cloudy effect.
=calories=
Based on a 100ml glass it has 3 calories and 0.3grams of sugar.
=Length of fizz=
The fizz lasts for about 20 minutes in a glass but even flat it still tastes nice, I find it is a refreshing drink and on a summers day (when we have one!), this is lovely as a long drink with ice cubes
The fizz does last for the time it takes me to drink it but if I have left my drink for awhile I find the fizz isn't apparent but the taste is just the same but a flat drink. I mainly drink it within 5 minutes of pouring it into my glass. It is a refreshing drink and quenches my thirst very well indeed. I always try to serve my pop from a fridge as I feel that gives it a better taste,
=Adults=
I have tried this with Vodka, and some ice cubes, and I can say it is absolutely beautiful, it really gives an added dimension to the Vodka, it would also work well with Gin, instead of bitter lemon.
=My Verdict=
This is excellent priced own brand drink, with a unique take with the cloudiness, and for 2 litres it lasts us a couple of days and still keeps the fizz in the bottle. I would defiantly buy this again. Read the complete review |

Tesco Value Orange Juice
by writeallnight
Tesco Value Orange Juice comes in a white carton with a cartoon-style picture of an orange on the front of it, as opposed to the image above which shows the old style carton (that I actually preferred, given that it gave you more of an idea of the oranges used and such). It comes in little 250ml cartons and 1 litre cartons. The smaller ... cartons tend to cost around 50p for 3 and the larger one is about 65p. They're not really much different in price.
One thing that I really dislike about the carton itself is that you have to cut the corner of it to open it. I'd rather it had one of those flip tops that you can close, so you know that bugs and things can't crawl inside.
As for the taste of the orange juice, to me it tastes quite watered down and weak in flavour. It never used to taste like this, and has only started to get bad recently. Even the colour of it isn't really orange any more like it used to be, it's now a pale yellow, which to me, doesn't make it seem very appealing at all. At first, I thought I'd just got a dodgy carton of it or something, but I purchased two further cartons from different stores and they all tasted and looked weak and unappealing.
Even for the low price of 50-65p I wouldn't recommend it, unless you're willing to supplement the orange flavour with a little squash or something like that, which I think is pretty poor really. Read the complete review |
