Tetley Decaffinated tea bags.........

We have the option of having decaffeinated tea at work and the other day I thought I would give it a try and make a cuppa with one. I know that they don't cost that much more than the standard Tetley tea bags and the look pretty much the same with the rounded bag which holds the grains inside. I think for a box of around 100 you pay a little under £2 which I think is pretty acceptable.

Of course you make up the cup of tea in the usual way by adding any sugar and then pouring on boiled water, then giving the bag a good stir round to let the water colour nicely and then adding milk at the last minute. However with these decaffeinated tea bags I find that I don't get the colour that I am used to. The certainly don't let off a good dark colour and it makes it look awful once milk is added. I do usually like a nice strong cup of tea but when trying these decaffeinated bags felt that I was unable to get that strong look or taste.

The taste of the tea was rather weak and for me I felt that it didn't really taste that much of tea as I know it. I don't think I will be using the decaffeinated bags again and I would certainly never buy them for home.

For me these tea bags are only getting 1 star out of five and that 1 star is only because they are better for you than normal tea bags because they have no caffeine. But for me they are a definite NO NO!!

Summary: not one for me!

If you are going for de caf then I go for fruit teas as they don't pretend to be anything than what they are!! Sue

I only drink decaf as I can't sleep otherwise - but if I ever have normal tea in the morning at work it tastes way too strong for me!
