Advantages: Mild without the bitterness

Disadvantages: Hard to get into the packet

I've recently found the joys of green tea and I've been finding that I miss it if I don't have any in the cupboard. I usually buy the Sainsburys own version which has a hint of lemon added to it but unfortunately they didn't have any when I went to get some yesterday. I noticed that this tea was on offer at just a pound (usually £1.45 which I still think is very good) for 50 tea bags. I was really impressed with the price and thought I'd give them a try.

The tea bags themselves are circular in shape and contain a good amount of tea leaves. They smell very zesty and the lemon scent is not over whelming, it reminds me of the way the Lemon slices that Mr Kipling makes, smell; subtle but enough to know it's there.

The good thing about this particular tea is it not only contains antioxidants but it also counts towards to your daily fluid intake which normal tea does not.

I found that the tea brew very quickly and I didn't need to leave the bag in the water for very long. It was a nice murky green colour and the smell of lemon was apparent as I put the cup to my mouth.

I really enjoyed the taste of this tea because unlike the sainsburys one the balance is just right; the tea isn't bitter in any way at all and the taste of the tea and lemon seem to work in perfect harmony together. I did enjoy the Sainburys green tea up until I tasted this one and I know realize that the Sainsburys version just doesn't quite work; the tea is slightly bitter and the lemon seems to be a little overwhelming and instead of being part of the tea, they both seem to be separate if that makes sense?

My only problem with this particular product is the fact that the cellophane wrapper took me ages to take off. It didn't seem to have a 'pull' bit and every time I managed to get a bit inbetween my finger and thumb, it would peel and I'd be left with a tiny bit in my hand.

All in all this is a great green tea at brilliant price. I would highly recommend it and I am now a Tetley convert!

Summary: Excellent product

I used to drink green tea all the time, but when I tried this, something about it made me actually be sick - there's some ingredient that really didn't agree with me. Seems to be just me that happens to though.

I have never tried green tea and think it is about time I widened my tea tasting experience.
I like Tetley as a brand, so may well try this one. Tanks.
