Advantages: Everything, refreshing, cheap just everything
Disadvantages: can sometimes be hard to find
As Im quite young many people laugh at me when I walk out with a flask of my Tetley's peppermint punch but I love it. Most people my age are out with bottles of coke or alcohol but I must admit after a cup of this tea I feel amazingly refreshed and ready to take on the world.
--What Is It??/--
It is a brand of peppermint tea created by the masters of Tetleys and iImust say it is better than any other peppermint tea I have tried. It is simply a tea bag but instead of tea leaves the bag holds peppermint leaves (I think :S) and it just works in the same way as a tea bag you pour on boiled water and allow it to stew in the cup. Dont be worried if the water goes green, Its supposed to. The packaging for more fruit/ herbal teas reccomend you allow it to stew for 7 minutes but ive never had to wait more than 2 or three because I feel after 7 minutes its started to go cold and you dont get the full impact of the flavour.
--What does it taste like? --
well obviously all I can say is peppermint but I can compare it to some other peppermint flavours. If you leave it to stew for 2-3 minutes like I do then the taste is almost as intense as a polo when you bite into it but if you leave it for the reccommended 7 minutes the taste is just pure heaven, not sharp or bitter like some other peppermint teas can be but its just simply to die for.
-- Where can i get it from?--
I was aware that Tetleys was giving away free samples if you join a mailing list on their website but that was a short while ago so I am currently unsure if that offer still applies. You can purchase it for almost all leading supermarkets and some larger corner shops but I would recommend the supermarket personally because it is easy to find at the end of any tea and coffee aisle along with a large selection of other fruit and herbal teas.
-- What is the packaging like? --
There are two different sizes for the packaging 25 tea bags of 40. I puchase the 40 bag box as I go through quite alot of this so ill describe that box. It is a green box with peppermint leaves on the front. The Tetley's label is on the front and top of the box next to a clear label saying Tetley's Peppermint Tea. The box is a large cuboid with a flap on the top that opens allowing you to get to the tea bags.
--How much will it set me back?--
As I said you can get a few samples off Tetley's themselves for free but you will have to check if the offer is still running. In most stores a 40 bag box will set you back 1.80 but I brought my latest from Tesco's at only 1 Pound so you can find a bargain. The 25 box will be between 1.20 and 1.50 depeding where you go but it is slightly more economical for the 40 box in my opinion.
Overall I love this tea and am not suprised I managed to write so much about it as I rave about it to almost everyone.
p.s. to look for the free sample I typed in Tetleys free samples into Google
Summary: grab a cup of peppermint tea and see for yourself
