First off, I am very strong advocate for ditching brand names and buying from the supermarket's own brand label: there are very few things that I demand a brand on, and tea is not one of them. For the past few years I have been using Asda's own tea-bags, which are VERY cheap, and provide an adequate cup of tea, or so I thought.

This weekend, my son broke his arm and needed surgery. At the hospital, he was not allowed to eat or drink anything for around five hours (a tough call for a 2 year old). To be part of the adventure, I too did not eat or drink for this time, and so when he went down for the op (where I was not allowed to go), I got a cup of tea from the 'staff-room'. To my surprise, the tea bags were Tetley. I made a brew, and drank, and boy was it nice. Now, to make sure you realise it wasn't just my need for any drink that made it so nice, I had another one later, and it too was amazing.

It's hard to explain the taste of tea, but the Tetley tea-bags I used provided a very fresh cup that, whilst full of flavour, had no nasty bite or after-taste to it. The tea-bag itself gave an adequate strength cup without having to be squeezed or pressed, and the bag showed no signs of breaking or tearing. The appearance of the tea was (to be honest) much like any other, although my cheaper bags take a squeeze to get to full colour.

The beautiful cup is no mistake, but made through the 3 special ingredients:
* Assam from india for body and strength
* African for the distinctive taste and red colour
* Ceylon for a smooth refreshing finish

There are currently 8 brands of Tetley Tea available, including Decaf, and Green Leaf tea, which is natural 'speed food'.

Of course, the main reason I didn't buy these in the first place is the price, which is, on average, three times that of the cheap bags from Asda. At the end of the day, this is just too high a price to convince me I should buy them. I would say they taste twice as nice for three times the price, which isn't worth it for day to day use, but maybe I'll get a pack for special occasions!

In conclusion, it makes a nicer cup of tea, but the extra price is hard to swallow.

Summary: up to you!
